Oyezz Real Estate Was Leader in 2010-2011 Short Sales of Homes in Dallas-Fort Worth Area

Dallas, TX, April 21, 2011 –(PR.com)– Oyezz Real Estate, which specializes in short sales as alternatives to home foreclosure, was the leader in short sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the period covering all of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011, according to sales figures from North Texas Real Estate Information System (NTREIS), the Multiple Listing Service for North Texas.

Based on sales data about known short sales reported by NTREIS, agent Eartha Wang of Oyezz logged 45 short sales over the 15-month period, with 38 of them in 2010. She was the single best agent when it came to short sales, with five more than her nearest competitor. In the region, there was a total of 2,665 successful short sales in 2010-2011.

Oyezz Real Estate focuses almost exclusively on short sales, which are an increasingly popular alternative to foreclosure. In a short sale, the property is sold for a price below the amount of the loan. The lender agrees to accept the sale proceeds as payment in full, and the homeowner walks away from the home free of debt and free of the "stain" of a foreclosure on their credit report.

With a short sale, the homeowner can stay in the house until it is sold, as with any normal home sale. The transaction is recorded on the homeowner’s credit report as a “settled debt,” and once the individual’s finances improve, he or she can consider buying another house within as little as 18 months. Alternatively, a foreclosed homeowner will have to wait seven years to buy another house.

“Short sales are an excellent way to avoid foreclosure, but they do pose challenges,” said John Anderson, President of Oyezz Real Estate. “For example, there is quite a bit of negotiation required to get the lender to agree to the short sale and to the listing price. That is why it pays to work with someone who is experienced and knows the short sale process well.”

Anderson pointed out that over the 2010-2011 15-month period, the NTREIS figures show there were 3,580 failed short sale attempts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That is in line with industry averages, Anderson noted, adding that working with agents who specialize in short sales increases the likelihood of a successful sale.

In the 2010-2011 period, NTREIS figures show there were 21,137 foreclosure sales, or nearly eight times the number of successful short sales. In many of those foreclosure cases, Anderson said, the houses could have been sold instead through short sales to benefit both the homeowner and the lender.

“A short sale is far less stressful for a homeowner than being thrown out of their house, saddled with a bad credit history, and often still forced to pay back the difference between the sale price and their mortgage,” Anderson emphasized. “And for the lender, they can avoid the foreclosure legal process as well as the high costs of having to maintain an empty house until they can sell it, which is much harder when the property is vacant.”

Northern Rock has revealed that UK ISA savers are missing out on around £1 billion of interest each year that they could be earning if they shopped around.

Northern Rock's research into instant-access ISA products available in the UK, demonstrates that over 69% of Cash ISA balances earn interest at less than 1.00% pa – which amounts to £60 billion in balances.

Barnfield South Academy and Barnfield West Academy in Luton have been completed and handed over on time, thanks in part to the use of Hy-Ten's rollout steel reinforcement system, Bamtec. This has been used for concrete floor construction enabling main contractor Wates Construction to keep on-track despite dreadful weather.

Wates Construction decided to adopt the Bamtec system for concrete floor reinforcement to make time in the schedule. Academies have high concentrations of mechanical services and unusual design requiring an extended fit-out phase. This reduces the time available to build the basic structure. Winter weather conditions can also cause further delays. Bamtec pre-fabricated 'carpets' of roll-out steel reinforcement were used rather than manually placed re-bar. This saved substantially the time required for steel reinforcement fixing.

Phil Whitby, Wates' construction manager for both academies explained, "Using conventional methods, each floor may take two weeks or more for steel placement before the pour. Bad weather adds to this greatly. Bamtec enabled us to reduce this to typically four days between each pour, taking maximum advantage of the available good weather windows. When we had perfected the method we even completed one pour to pour cycle in less than two days."

Hy-Ten provides contractors with substantial technical support when using the Bamtec system. This includes, where required, a service to apply finite element analysis to the structural engineering specification. By close curtailment of the stress zones around columns it is often possible to reduce the diameter, length or density of re-bar needed and achieve significant steel savings. Hy-ten also have a much wider selection of re-bar available enabling structural requirements to be met more precisely.

The Bamtec system greatly reduces skilled labour needed. There are health and safety advantages too, as the roll-out carpets can be positioned with less back-breaking effort than with individually placed and wired re-bars. Bamtec steel fixers report less back strain and injury.

"Completion of the structural frame and achieving a weather tight building enabled us to get on with the crucial fit-out phase just as the worst of the winter weather broke. The campus was complete and handed over on time, safeguarding and enhancing our reputation with the local authority," concluded Phil Whitby.

The new Barnfield Academy buildings provide students and the community with a first rate environment and new learning opportunities. The academies have gone from strength to strength since being taken over by the Barnfield Federation in 2007.

In addition to moving into the vibrant new buildings, GCSE results on both sites have more than tripled and they are now judged 'outstanding' and 'good' by Ofsted. The recently completed campus master plan for Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) has been recognized with a prestigious design award from the Society of College and University Planning (SCUP). The master plan for SUTD's new campus—designed by Sasaki Associates in collaboration with MKPL—has received a 2011 Honor Award for Excellence in Planning. SUTD's new campus, which is planned to open in the fall of 2014, will support a projected growth to 7,000 students on a site area of 22 hectares.

The SCUP Excellence in Planning Award is a juried competition held annually in the United States and open to professional consultants and institutions. The award celebrates comprehensive campus plans and building designs that are developed in a collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders including campus planners, architects, administrators, faculty, and consultants. Underscoring the competitiveness of the SCUP awards program, the Master Plan for SUTD was one of only six Honor Awards recognized from a total of 200 submissions received in the 2011 SCUP Awards program. The honor award is the highest level of awards bestowed by the jurors in the competition.

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) master plan provides a unique challenge – to design a new university campus that advances the implementation of a cutting-edge academic vision of interdisciplinary, collaborative, and project based learning. The University's academic mission and curriculum, developed in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is based on bold new paradigms for integrating technology and design education in the fields of Engineering Systems Design, Engineering Product Development, Architecture and Sustainable Design, and

Information Systems Technology and Design. These aspirations will serve as a means to promote research and learning, partnerships with industry, and integration with a global, knowledge based economy.

To foster SUTD's innovative curriculum, the master plan puts forth a bold and visionary framework for the campus environment. The design accomplishes this through an east-west pedestrian spine that showcases the University's interdisciplinary and collaborative mission, gives an address for the major program elements, creates a public face for the University, and connects to surrounding future development. Multi-functional and interconnected academic buildings will reinforce collaboration, invention, and creativity. Student life facilities, housing, and recreational buildings will be integrated in mixed-use precincts and connected through a range of public spaces and pedestrian links. Sustainable design strategies are comprehensively integrated, through building orientation and green roofs, building systems, pedestrian and transit access, and storm water management. The overall result will be a campus that has a strong identity, supports a vibrant community, and demonstrates a commitment to engaged learning and student development.

To create the master plan, Sasaki and MKPL worked closely with MIT faculty and administrators to explore how the design of the new campus could best support SUTD's new inter-disciplinary model of education. Successful strategies from MIT were applied in the SUTD master plan, including a re-envisioning of MIT's famous "infinite corridor" as a strong east-west pedestrian spine to the campus, technologically-advanced classrooms and laboratory spaces, and the location of learning and living spaces in locations that foster collaboration and connection between and among students and faculty.

gasq and IT Governance (ITG) are today jointly launching the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ) to help improve and standardise the global range and quality of training for IT governance professionals.

Werner Henschelchen, General Manager of gasq, says: 'There are a number of training organisations across Europe which are interested in delivering accredited training courses around information security management, business resilience and IT governance. The new IBITGQ framework will define structured learning paths from foundation courses through to advanced and expert-level qualifications. Qualifications will initially be built around the implementation and audit skills required for best-practice management standards, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27005, BS25999 and ISO/IEC 38500.'

IBITGQ will develop and publish syllabuses for each of the qualifications that it establishes, as it establishes them, and these syllabuses will be freely available from the IBITGQ website, http://www.ibitgq.org, which is currently under development and will be launched within the next two weeks.

'Open examinations for all IBITGQ courses will be available online through gasq and at the end of accredited training courses, through accredited exam centres. We have already accredited IT Governance Ltd for the delivery of training leading to the first two IBITGQ certifications,' adds Werner Henschelchen.

Alan Calder, Chief Executive of IT Governance, says: 'It's hard to assess the relative quality and value of many training courses without standardised testing and external accreditation by established examination bodies. IT governance, information security and business resilience are increasingly important to organisations worldwide. We believe that a formal qualification scheme will provide a framework for professionals within the industry to develop the range of interconnected skills that employers will need in the years ahead.'

IBITGQ, an association working non-for-profit incorporated under German law, draws initially on gasq's international expertise in the accreditation of training providers, provision of examinations and certification of personnel, and the well-regarded IT governance, information security and compliance training expertise of IT Governance Ltd. IBITGQ is actively recruiting additional board members from the industry and will be developing relationships with relevant industry bodies in the UK, across Europe and in North America.

Those training organisations that wish to deliver IBITGQ-accredited training courses will be able to use the published syllabuses and range of supporting materials to develop their own capability to the point that they and their courses can be accredited. There will also be a range of supporting manuals, training and examination guides, and approved courseware to simplify the route to accreditation for training organisations and to help candidates prepare for the examinations. Everything that a training organisation might need in order to prepare for accreditation, and more, will be available from the IBITGQ website.

The first two IBITGQ-accredited courses are the Certified ISMS ISO27001 Lead Implementer and the Certified ISMS ISO27001 Lead Auditor courses. The first ATO delivering these courses is IT Governance Ltd, and the first courses will take place in London in May.

'Continuing professional development is critical for IT governance, information security and business resilience professionals today,' adds Werner Henschelchen, 'and, for this reason, we will be working with IT Governance and members of the IBITGQ board to develop a CPD scheme that will ensure that employers continue to value the IBITGQ range of certifications. All members of the broad IT governance industry are welcome to join IBITGQ, which can be done (for a small annual fee) by going to the association's website when it is launched.'

On May 18, 2011 Mr. Boris Gorbis, a veteran consumer law attorney in Beverly Hills, will be handed a prestigious Outstanding Community Service Award by the WeHo Russian Advisory Board. The annual award is given to individuals "who devoted extraordinary amount of time and energy to making a difference in the lives of West Hollywood community members."

The 61 year old Odessa (Ukraine) native and UC Berkeley law graduate is well known for his pro-bono work as a trusted advisor, spokesperson and activist of the Russian-speaking community in California. However, Mr. Gorbis will be also recognized for his role as a founder of a unique and in many ways paradoxical institution – the America-Israel Museum, located (of all places) in the Larry Flynt Productions building at Wilshire and LaCienega Blvds., in Beverly Hills.

Mr. Gorbis singlehandedly created the AM-IS Museum to collect, preserve and exhibit evidence of a "love affair" between America and Israel in the pivotal periods of the 20th Century. There is no other institution in the US or Israel with a mission to honor bonds between Americans (Christians and Jews) and Israelis; between the land of the free and the land of return.

The Museum houses "actual umbilicals" — tens of thousands of documents, photographs, letters and artifacts from the early 1900's to mid 70's. A poorly kept secret, it occupies half of the mezzanine floor provided by Mr. & Mrs. Flynt at a nominal rent and is visited by hundreds of locals and guests from Israel, US and abroad (a 24 hour appointment is requested).

The award is also a recognition of the Russian-speaking community growing beyond its émigré agenda and taking bold steps towards asserting itself as a voice in the civic and Jewish affairs in the Greater Los Angeles area.

The awards ceremony and reception will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 6 pm at the Crystal Restaurant at 7901 Santa Monica Blvd (2d floor) in West Hollywood, Ca, 90046. Over 200 people are expected to mix with local, state and nationally elected officials, community leaders and luminaries and feast on hors d'oeuvres and samplings of Russian food. The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland's fifth annual Ultimate Open House tour includes 43 new construction homes, townhomes and condos throughout the Portland-metro area. 25 local builders have entered homes that will be featured on the tour. The event takes place two consecutive weekends in May (May 13-15 and May 20-22) and is free to the public. There will be incentives and drawings for attendees and buyers throughout both weekends of the tour.

The first idea home, presented by Gertz Fine Homes, features a "Man Cave."
