How AT&T is ruining 4G

Posted:

A wireless carrier is rarely ever equipped with a clean slate. In one way or another, something is usually tarnishing their name. AT&T has been the focus point for a lot of people over the last few years, especially after the wildly successful launch of the iPhone. The carrier’s network in certain locations in the United States, namely San Francisco and New York City, seemed to take heavy hits due to huge traffic hikes. But now that the iPhone is available on another carrier,...

T-Mobile G2x Review Pt. 2

Aaron reviews the T-Mobile G2x , the US version of the LG Optimus 2X and one of the best Android devices on the market at the moment.  It offers a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, 4-inch WVGA display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, front-facing camera for video calling, and a stock build of Android 2.2.  While it seems small for a dual-core Android phone, the 1,500 mAh battery does a great job of powering the device through the day with moderate use. It's...

HTC Sensation 4G release date leaked by Google ad?

Posted:

When T-Mobile finally made the HTC Sensation 4G official, they left one critical detail out of the announcement: the device's release date. Thanks to a bit of detective work, though, we may finally know when the smartphone formerly known as Pyramid will arrive. Our friends at TmoNews recently spotted an ad on Google that says "HTC Sensation 4G - On 6/8 - Complete w/ HTC Watch & HTC Sense." The evidence doesn't end there, though. After examining the Sensation 4G's press image, the date in HTC's...

Amazon's been making headlines in the mobile world lately with the launch of its Appstore for Android and Amazon Cloud Drive/Cloud Player, but a new report is claiming that the company's got something even bigger up its sleeve. Peter Rojas, founder of gdgt, said earlier today that he's "99% certain" that Samsung is hard at work creating an Android-powered tablet for Amazon and that, while he's not sure exactly when it'll launch, it'll probably arrive no later than this summer. Why the Verizon iPhone had little impact on AT&T's Q1 results

Posted:

Until February of this year, AT&T had free reign over iPhone customers here in the States. They have been the only carrier to officially offer the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and 3Gs, and were the only carrier to offer the iPhone 4 until recently, when it hit Verizon's shelves. The CDMA iPhone was one of the most rumored and most highly anticipated devices to date. It had been slipping in and out of headlines nearly every month for the past few years. As the rumors became more...

I can't tell you how many times I've had someone ask me over the past six months when Boost Mobile was going to get another Android smartphone. Boost has great plan prices and somewhat decent phones, but they were lacking that one mid-range smartphone that could really satisfy the masses. Now they have that. It's the Samsung Galaxy Prevail . Yes, you will still have to make a few sacrifices in terms of performance, but at least the option is there. So the next question is, 'How many...
