| Spider-Man: Edge of Time – First Game Details Revealed Posted: 03 Apr 2011 04:50 AM PDT A few days ago both Activision and Beenox announced that they would be releasing a new game called Spider-Man: Edge of Time. All we knew at that stage was the fact that the upcoming title would involve both Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 in a connected timeline. Although there was little information given at that point, Activision promised that more details would be revealed during the WonderCon 2011 event. Well according to Valay over on the nintendoeverything.com website, Activision has delivered on their said promise and revealed a little more information. For example, Chris Barnes will be the voice of Spider-Man 2099 in the Spider-Man: Edge of Time game, while Josh Keaton will be voicing the Amazing Spider-Man character. The game – which is due to be released sometime this fall – will contain cause/effect gameplay and feature elements from Shattered Dimensions. However, the Edge of Time game is not a sequel to the Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions title. The story in the Edge of Time game, which sees an evil scientist from 2099 traveling back in time in the hope of destroying Spider-Man, is said to be very character driven. There may not be any screenshots or a trailer available at this stage, but they should be arriving pretty soon. | Ice Cream Google Doodle: Hints of Android 4.0 or Just Sundae Fun Posted: 03 Apr 2011 03:56 AM PDT We have some very interesting news to bring you now, especially for Android users. Google has just updated their homepage with an ‘Ice Cream Sundae’ doodle, but is it just to celebrate the anniversary of the tasty dessert, or is it a hidden message about Android 4.0 OS? For those of you that don’t know, it had been rumored months ago that Google were planning to name Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream’, and it would be the next version after Android 3.0 Honeycomb. We first told you about this back in October 2010, when it had been reported that ARM president Tudor Brown had named Google’s next Android update, Ice Cream – sending the tech world crazy for a few days. In perhaps the biggest hint about Ice Cream yet, we even had Google’s Eric Schmidt confirm at MWC 2011 that the next version of Android will start with an I – which doesn’t take a genius to work out that this is obviously Ice Cream that he’s referring to. With this information now refreshed in your mind, take a look at Google’s Doodle and then say it doesn’t mean anything. Of course it is the ’119th anniversary of the invention’ of the Ice Cream Sundae, but we have a feeling that Google couldn’t resist throwing in a teaser about their next Android OS at the same time – and it falls on a Sunday too – how ironic. | 2011 Hybrid Car Lineup: New Models Posted: 03 Apr 2011 12:56 AM PDT The 2011 Hybrid car lineup looks to be going the same way as last year, with many new models about to hit the market. These vehicles are a little like the tablet PC, just one or two choices before the market had time to realize just how big a business it really was. With that in mind most carmakers had to play catch-up to Toyota and its Prius – which is the best selling Hybrid to date. The problem with the Prius was that it was a newly designed vehicle, and not one that we all knew and loved. However, that has all changed now that the likes of Ford, BMW, Audi, Lexus etc has got in on the act. Now in 2011 we will start to see a number of new models – with designs that we are more familiar with. No more are Hybrids just plain boring cars with only fuel-economy in mind and nothing else, and the 2011 Lexus CT 200h is proof of that. This car has a sporty look and feel to it, and with four different driving modes it offers more than a standard wagon ever could. Most carmakers know the importance of the Hybrid, which is why Porsche has the Cayenne S Hybrid option. Who would have thought that a brand with a racing pedigree like this would ever move into this market? Maybe Ferrari and Lamborghini will be next? There is no denying how popular the Prius has been, so one would assume that this will also be the case with the 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid – although there has been other version of this and there are not many changes to this model. Finally we have the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid and sits a little lower to the ground than the gas version; but do not let that put you off, as there are a number of features to this model that makes it a must-have for those wanting a more fuel-efficient vehicle but with a more aggressive stance. | Orange Release New ‘Do Some Good’ App for iOS Posted: 02 Apr 2011 09:35 AM PDT Are you one of the many people that would love to get involved in a charitable cause but never really does because you don't have a lot of time to spare? If you answered yes, then Orange's recently released 'Do Some Good' iOS app might be the ideal answer. According to a recent article by Darren Allan over at techwatch.co.uk, the 'Do Some Good' application – which is free to download from the Apple App Store – is aimed at those who don't really have an entire day to invest in a charitable cause, but do want to spare some time doing good. Orange says that lots of little bits of help all add up to create a big impact for different charitable organizations. Rather than reading a month-old magazine while you're waiting for a doctor's or dentist's appointment, you could be taking on a small task on your smartphone instead. For example, you could take part in a survey for a charity, in order to help them out on the research front. Every action on the app is supposed to take just five minutes to complete. Other than the feeling of satisfaction that you've helped out in some way, the app also rewards those who participate. The network operator will make all those who complete a total of 60 separate tasks eligible for rewards from the Orange RockCorps Collective, including free tickets to music gigs. | BloodRayne: Betrayal – New Game Announced for PSN / XBLA Posted: 02 Apr 2011 07:02 AM PDT We have some rather interesting news now for those of you that are fans of the BloodRayne video game series, as publisher Majesco has just announced that Rayne will in fact be making a long-awaited return this summer for a brand new game entitled BloodRayne: Betrayal. According to a recent article by Adam Rosenberg over at multiplayerblog.mtv.com, the BloodRayne: Betrayal game – which is being developed by WayForward, the same studio behind the 2009 Wii remake 'A Boy and His Blob' – will be available on both the PSN, and XBLA. The Betrayal game appears to have taken a bit of a different direction compared to previous BloodRayne titles. The new game has removed the 3D environments and the third-person action that fans have no doubt grown to love, and replaced them with a 2D side-scrolling setup. BloodRayne: Betrayal will see Rayne taking on one last vampire-hunting mission, and it doesn't look she'll be alone either. Rayne will have a brand new companion to keep her company in the new game, which of course suggests the possibility of co-op gameplay in the new title.
