The video trailer which doesn't give us many details about the new HTC handset mentions the dual LED flash along with the 16 megapixel camera. With picture quality megapixels are not always a guarantee of the best images but can help in low light situations. Currently the handset with the highest amount of megapixels is the Altek Leo which has 14 megapixels. We will have to wait for any more specifications for the handset to be revealed, but for consumers who want to buy a Windows Phone 7 device it will surely be tempting. What do you think about a handset having a 16 megapixel device? For more coverage: |

| Uncharted 3: New Details / Multiplayer Beta Unveiled Posted: 18 Apr 2011 02:09 AM PDT Just last week, video game developer Naughty Dog treated gamers to a few more details regarding its much-anticipated PS3- exclusive, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Now it appears that even more new details have been unveiled, including a date for the multiplayer beta. According to the TV within the video, the multiplayer beta will be launched on July 5th. It wasn't just the multiplayer beta release date that was unveiled on the video either, as it also revealed a few new details regarding gameplay. For example, if you look at the video around the 1.47 mark, it looks like players will be able to interact with the enemies while hanging on a ledge. The video – which can be viewed via the vgn365.com website – also reveals that the Uncharted 3 game will feature split-screen gameplay, although it is uncertain whether the split-screen is from the campaign mode or the multiplayer. | Nintendo Wii 2: Another Price Cut to Original Fuels Rumors of Release Posted: 18 Apr 2011 01:55 AM PDT Earlier on we showed you a concept image of the Nintendo Wii 2 HD touchscreen controller, but now we have some interesting news to tell you. A few of the main retailers in the UK have discounted a huge amount off the price of the Nintendo Wii, which sounds to us like they may know something we don’t. Remember how the rumors last week were gathering pace on an imminent Nintendo Wii price cut to $150 in the US on May 15th? Well it looks like similar movement is happening in the UK, only these price cuts are effective right now! If you head over to the GAME UK website, you’ll see that they are currently selling the Black Nintendo Wii for just £99 with the included Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort titles and also a Motion Plus controller, as reported from Eurogamer. That is a pretty nice discount off the previous price of £130, but that’s not all. Not to be outdone, Amazon has also gotten in on this, as they are currently selling the Nintendo Wii for £99 as well – which can’t just be a coincidence. GAME has already covered their backs somewhat by saying that this price reduction is merely an Easter special and is not related to any ‘new hardware’ announcements – but we think they are telling good old fashioned porkies. We think Nintendo has told them that new hardware is on the way, and to start announcing incentives to shift stock of the original Wii. What are your thoughts on this guys – is this more confirmation that the Wii 2 is coming at E3 2011 in June? For more coverage: |
| Battlefield 3: PC Hardware Requirements: Worried you can’t run it? Posted: 18 Apr 2011 01:25 AM PDT As most of you will probably agree, Battlefield 3 is shaping up to be the best looking video games of the year, after EA has been showing off the full power of their Frostbite 2 engine which will feature in the game. However, the graphics are going to be very demanding for those of you hoping to get the PC version of the game. EA Dice has already stated that the PC version of the game will feature the best graphics, and will be separated from the console versions which will be downgraded slightly since they can’t handle the full power. What we want to know, is whether your current system will be able to handle the game, or if you’re planning to buy a new rig just in order to run Battlefield 3 at optimal settings. EA hasn’t disclosed the official miminum specs for the game, but we do have a list of recommended specs which have been provided by EnterBF3.com. According to them, you’ll need at least a Quad Core processor to run BF3 at a reasonable frame rate. You’ll also need 4GB of RAM spare, 512MB of video memory available and have a graphics card compatible with DirectX 11. Again, these are not official specs yet, but don’t be surprised if a quad-core processor is recommended by EA. What gaming graphics can you handle on the PC at the moment? Are you worried that your current setup cannot play BF3 – will you risk it with a dual-core? For more coverage: |
| Droid Incredible 2: Release Date, But Disappointing Specs List Posted: 18 Apr 2011 12:13 AM PDT A few days ago, we informed you that the incoming Droid Incredible 2 handset would be priced at $199 on contract according to a Verizon intel leak, and now we have some even better news for you. Some further leaked information has revealed a release date and a full list of official specs. You won’t be surprised to hear that the information has once again surfaced from Verizon leak specialists Droid-Life, who have included an image detailing a launch date and list of specifications for the true successor to the Droid Incredible. That launch date has been scheduled for April 28th, and the date applies to whether you’re buying online, or if you plan to pick one up from retail stores. As for the specs list, it confirms that the device won’t feature a dual-core processor, but instead a 1Ghz Snapdragon Qualcomm chip, an 8 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, 720p video recording and a 4-inch capacitive touch screen. Although not confirmed yet, it also looks likely that this handset won’t be coming with that impressive HTC Sense 3.0 UI. It looks like you’ll get the bog standard version instead on top of Android 2.2 Froyo. Dare we say it, but the specs are a little disappointing don’t you think? No dual-core processor, no gingerbread, no 1080p video recording and no HTC Sense 3.0. Considering that this handset is carrying the tag of Droid Incredible ‘successor’, we feel HTC could have spent a little more time making the device a little more appealing to consumers. Check out the full list over at Droid-Life and let us know your thoughts on this. Are you as disappointed with the Droid Incredible 2 specs as we are? For more coverage: |
| Nintendo Wii 2: HD Touchscreen Controller Image – Concept or Reality Posted: 17 Apr 2011 09:42 PM PDT We have previously told you about rumors suggesting that specs of the Nintendo Wii 2 will include an controller with a built-in innovative touchscreen, and now we have an concept image of the design to show you, which could be pretty close to what Nintendo unveils at E3 2011 in June. Just to refresh, we are hearing that not only will the Wii 2 be more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it will also feature a touchscreen controller with built-in motion control, with sensitivity on par at least with Sony’s PlayStation Move device. IGN has come up with a pretty nifty design based on these ideas, and it gives you a great idea of how the device may turn out to be, check it out below: As you can see, the picture shows a rather large touchscreen slapped in the middle of the controller, and if IGN’s report is accurate – this may turn out to be a 6-inch screen we’re dealing with. Not only that, but this screen will be touch supported and will have a HD resolution! Underneath the screen we also we the Project Cafe codename which is floating around, and included dual analogue sticks and shoulder buttons. Immediate questions now, are whether this touchscreen controller will include ‘multitouch’ support for greater control, wireless connectivity via Bluetooth and Infrared, and what type of battery system will actually power the thing. What we want to know from you though, is whether you think this touchscreen controller is a good idea or not, or just an unneeded gimmick that is unlikely to benefit the gaming industry. Do you think the image above is an accurate mockup, and would you consider buying one? As always, we’ll inform you when we have fresh details on the Wii 2. For more coverage: |
| Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: Android 3.0 Honeycomb Video Preview Posted: 17 Apr 2011 09:05 PM PDT We have some pleasing news for those of you who are a bit bewildered at the current state of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 The device still may be far off from a release, but we do have an excellent new video to show you. The video has been provided by the guys over at Tinhte, that same Vietnamese website which has often been responsible for leaking Apple hardware in the past. They are back again with this exclusive look at Samsung’s delayed tablet – and you definitely won’t want to miss this if you are planning on getting one. For the first time, we get a good look at how Honeycomb 3.0 reacts on the device, and you’ll see from the first glimpse that the homescreen UI is very much untampered with, just like the experience offered on the Motorola Xoom which is available on Verizon. After a quick glance through the UI, you’ll be able to see what the device looks like from the back, and the included hardware buttons on the side. Unlike the Xoom, you’ll see that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 only features the Samsung branding on the back, and not the ‘with Google’ branding that’s featured on the Xoom. Towards the end of the video, we also get a useful look at how the device compares in size alongside the iPad 2. Just for fun, the guys over at Tinhte also boot up Angry Birds Rio on both devices too, so check out the video below and let us know your thoughts on it. We told you how the release date of this device hasn’t been affected by the iPad 2, and it has now been rescheduled for release in the US on June 6th. How many of you are still planning to get one?
