Shepherd Flat Wind Farms; an Initiative to Access Cost-Efficient Energy Hub

Energy crisis is the great dilemma, all the developed and under developed countries are seeking convenient and cheap alternative ways to produce electricity. One such initiative has been taken by Caithness Energy and GE i.e. Shepherd Flat Wind Farms.

Shepherd Flat Wind Farms is an intended wind farm near Arlington, Oregon, United States. Wind turbines in this area were installed in 2010 and it is estimated that the whole project will be completed till 2012. Estimated amount of investment in this project is US $100 million and it is expected that this wind farm will be the world's largest land oriented wind farm.

This wind farm will produce energy of 845MW; such power can provide energy to 235,000 homes. It operates on permanent magnetic generators which is a revolution in the turbine technology. Shepherd Flat Wind Farms will be the first profitable wind farm that will operate on the latest technological turbines. Aim of this project is to meet the energy goals of California in a cost-efficient way. Electricity that Shepherd Flat Wind Farms will produce will be provided to Southern California Edison on the basis of enduring agreements.

Caithless Energy was the main developer of this project, GE also did heavy investments and it was the one that initially invested in Shepherds Flats and manufactured turbines for this projects. GE also played a vital role in the operations and maintenance functions of Shepherd Flat Wind Farms. Co-investors include; Sumitomo Cooperation of America and Tyr Energy which are the subsidiaries of Sumitomo Corporation and ITOCHU Corporation respectively. These Corporations have in depth exposure of power projects.

Projects like Shepherd Flat Wind Farms are need of the day; it is a great practical example for other companies to invest in such projects in order to yield a cost effective energy system with better utilization of available resources.

Motorola Atrix will Compete with HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S II

Orange, the leading cellular network in UK has announced that much awaited Motorola Atrix will be available to UK citizens in the end of May. Motorola has name Atrix as the "World's most powerful Smartphone". It sounds like Motorola has become more vigilant towards its competitors; that's why it is working on the strategy of continuous product innovation.

HTC Sensation touchdown and Samsung Galaxy S II are the main competitors of Motorola Atrix. Motorola Atrix operates on Android 2.2 and features 1GHz Tegra 2 Processor, on the other side HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S II features 1.2GHz Dual Core Processor. Atrix's other features include; RAM on 1GB, 4 inches display with resolution of 960×540, dual cameras (front and rear facing). It will be hand on with Lapdock; which converts the handset to full laptop computer.

Forthcoming months will decide either Motorola Atrix will beat its rivals (HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S) or not. Price of Motorola Atrix is £300, keep your fingers crossed for this amazing gadget from the "House of Motorola".

Microsoft Declared the Date of Windows Revised Rollout for IE9

Microsoft has substantiated that Internet Explorer 9 through Windows update will be available to consumers of Windows 7 and Vista from 18th of April 2011.

Microsoft's Roger said, "On 18th April, a little over a month after the final release of IE9 to our Windows 7 and Windows Vista customers. We will offer IE9 to customers through a gradual rollout and expect the rollout to be largely complete by the end of June". He further said, "Similar to our approach for IE8, we will use Windows update to deliver IE9 to users. IE9 will not install automatically on machines. Users will have to agree to install IE9".

Microsoft organized a MIX conference to unveil the early stages on Internet Explorer 10. IE9 is already a great hit; hopefully IE10 will meet customer's expectations.

With the launch of IE9, Microsoft tried to maintain its market share and reputation among customers. It is simply trying to dominate the Mozilla and Google Chrome with the largest market share.
