Social Network Integration and File Sharing Added to Packing Pro

Posted: 19 Mar 2011 01:00 PM PDT

Taipei, Taiwan – With the latest version 5.3 update, Packing Pro, one of the most popular travel apps on the iPhone & iPad App Stores, has been thoroughly integrated with the social web (Facebook, Twitter & email), and has added packing list file sharing features as well. Now, users will be able to easily share thoughts, advice, and even actual packing lists with their friends, family & fellow travelers. Travel packing apparently has become a lot more social.

File sharing features in Packing Pro’s 5.3 update enable travelers to share their lists via email (attachment import & export) and via iTunes’ File Sharing. When viewing email on an iOS device, simply tapping on the packing list attachment will let you automatically launch the app, import the list and open it. Alternatively, when connected to your computer, you can access the device’s shared folder via iTunes to import & export packing list files to and from the device.

Packing Pro’s new social network integration now supports Facebook and Twitter, as well as email – all from within the app. If you have a travel or packing-related question, a packing achievement to brag about, or some great advice for people you care about, it’s now easy for you to connect and reach out to them whenever you want, even while in the middle of creating a list.

Packing Pro has been a top-ranking travel app in the iTunes App Stores of several countries for almost two years. It has peaked at #3 and #2 for the iPhone and iPad, respectively, in the U.S. Travel App section, #2 for both device types in Australia’s Travel App section, and #1 for both the iPhone & iPad in Canada. Packing Pro has also been spotlight demoed in Apple’s summer 2009 Travel Guide and recognized by National Geographic & American Express’ Travel Leisure (two years in a row) as one of the best travel apps for the iPhone, as well as earning glowing reviews on major tech & app blogs (148Apps, iLounge & TUAW, among others). In January, Packing Pro was also chosen as a finalist in the 2010 Best App Ever Award competition.

Packing Pro is more than just a digital packing list. It’s more like a personal packing assistant that is always by your side. It features an extensive, customizable catalog, several handy sample lists that can be used as templates, and unlimited, 100% customizable packing lists. A host of special functions include:

* Multi-item selection for speedy list building (now with duplicate-item safeguards)
* Collapsable categories with running item tallies
* Numerous packing list sorting & display options
* Weight and value totals
* Send to email for print out
* Import / export to other Packing apps and devices
* Recovery of deleted lists and categories
* Extensive in-app instructions and feedback options
* Multi-tasking, fast-app-switching support
* Fully customized device support for iPhones, iPod touches & iPads

Besides the core features listed above (which are also present in the basic Packing app), Packing Pro also gives its users complete control over the look and feel of the app (themes, layout, fonts, colors), twice as many sample lists, a double-sized Master Catalog with over 800 items and to-do tasks, Smart Search, full landscape orientation & keyboard support on all iOS devices, an Expert packing list wizard that can “automajically” help you create a customized list, and the newly-introduced iTunes & email file sharing support. These extra pro features help improve the ease and efficiency of packing list creation and management by reducing the need and the difficulty of typing on such a small device.

Quinn Genzel’s Packing Pro universal travel app for the iPhone, iPad & iPod touch has been thoroughly integrated with both Facebook & Twitter, and sports email-attachment and iTunes’ File Sharing import-export options for packing lists. Now you can share both lists and ideas with your fellow travelers. Who would have thought that packing could be so social.

Apple features Unnecessary Censorship as iPhone Entertainment What’s Hot

Posted: 19 Mar 2011 10:30 AM PDT

Delaware, Ontario, Canada – Murtha Design Inc. has announced that Apple has featured the video editing iOS App Unnecessary Censorship.

Sales increased 933% overnight from Wednesday to Thursday after Apple featured the App. Right now we have two hurdles to overcome; Getting people to notice the App and educating people that might not know what the term “unnecessary censorship” refers to. With Apple featuring the App, we will certainly overcome the first hurdle and now we are starting a campaign to educate people on the how fun it is to convert ordinary video into suggestive video by creatively censoring video unnecessarily.

The term “unnecessary censorship” refers to taking normal video and bleeping it out to make it look like something inappropriate happened.

Darren Murtha, CEO of Murtha Design Inc. says “The best part of using the Unnecessary Censorship App is you have the tools to convert your ordinary video clips of friends and family into hilarious video clips that make the viewer pause and ask ‘what just happened?’

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll be adding a section to our website to highlight the creative videos people make using the Unnecessary Censorship App. People will be encouraged to post their videos on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook and then email the public URL to uc@murthadesign.com

More people are reviewing App on iTunes:
iTunes Reviwer Justin Clark says “First of all I am no a way video or editing guy, but I gotta say there are few apps I have more fun with. I have tons of videos on my phone of family friends and our kids when I take a few minutes to add a bleep or a black bar it is instant entertainment for the family with the easy to use upload tools. I recommend this to anyone and everyone because if I can do it with ease it should be easy for all. justin”

iTunes Reviewer amandarj01 says “Ridiculously simple – took me two minutes to figure out how to use it without instructions. And it’s hilarious to watch creations you can finish in a few minutes, literally. Great app.”

iPhone App Video Summary

-Learning your ABC’s is a standard if you want to learn the English language. After all the 28 letters are the bedrock to every word we speak. Kiboomu Publishing has created a very fun, easy to use, interactive iPhone app to help kids learn their ABC’s with ABC Song Piano. This iPhone app has 4 main game modes, learn the song, play and sing along, karaoke, and free style. There are multiple languages for karaoke game play (English, Spanish, and French) which makes this a great English as second language application. This app is also very good for special needs children and is loaded with interaction opportunities. The title of this app is a little misleading, as users can use numerous other instrument sounds and even animal sounds when tapping on the piano keys.
