Motorola Atrix and XOOM coming to Sprint with WiMAX in tow?

Posted:

Sprint unveiled the HTC EVO 4G around a year ago and, while it may still be one of the best Android devices around, I'm sure many folks are ready for another high-end Android on the Now Network. If a new rumor is true, though, we won't be waiting much longer to see some great, new Android products on Sprint. According to a one of Android and Me's "regular sources," next month Sprint will announce the Motorola Atrix (lapdock in tow) and XOOM for their network. Best of all? They're said to be...

BlackBerry 6 users urged to disable JavaScript in light of new exploit

Posted:

Just a quick heads-up: if you're currently using a device with the BlackBerry 6 OS, you may want to disable JavaScript for your browser. A new browser exploit was recently made public at the Pwn2Own contest that can allow access to your device's any kind of media stored on your device, regardless of whether that's on your external memory card or the handset's internal memory. There haven't been any recorded cases of the exploit actually being used, but if you want to be safe, you can disable...

HP's hit-or-miss strategy needs to change

Posted:

webOS is a great mobile operating system. Even for those who aren’t a fan of the software, there’s no denying that webOS is a benchmark in its distinctiveness and creativity in the mobile OS market. Palm created something that bolsters multitasking, and released it at a time where the “King of Phones” wasn’t so thrilled to do more than one thing at a time. But, over the lifetime of webOS, the software has been marred by lackluster hardware. Or, perhaps more...

Boost Mobile and Samsung holding event next month, likely Android-related

Posted:

Boost Mobile doesn't have the most diverse Android lineup right now, but an event invite has revealed that they may be planning to expand it some time soon. Boost is sending out invites to an event that they're hosting with Samsung on April 5th and, while there's not much indication as to what they've got planned on the invite, the fact that it's been going out to Android blogs has lead many to believe that the event will be Android-related. So just what do Boost and Samsung have up their...

HP Veer expected to arrive on O2 Germany in May

Posted:

Ever since HP announced its three new webOS products last month, we've slowly been hearing rumors and leaks claiming to know when the devices will arrive. First, was the TouchPad and its possible June launch, and today it's the Veer's turn in the spotlight. According to a tweet from O2 Germany, the diminutive Veer is set to debut some time in May. We've heard in the past that it was set to arrive sometime this spring, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Veer land stateside around May, as well.

Posted:

After Verizon announced that it would be offering the HTC ThunderBolt for $249.99 with a contract, Best Buy chimed in to explain that they, too, would be selling the device for $250. That price would only last for a couple of days, Best Buy said, as the TBolt would be priced at $299.99 beginning Sunday, March 20th. It appears that BBY has had a change of heart, though, as today they've announced that the $249.99 price tag for the ThunderBolt will be extended past the original March 20th...

HTC Freestyle First Impressions by Sydney

Posted:

HTC has built up a solid reputation in the smartphone world as having top-of-the-line products and one of the best User Interfaces in the business with HTC Sense. Now HTC has decided to take their talents to the featurephone market and create a smart non-smartphone. Though the Freestyle does run HTC's Sense UI, it doesn't run any sort of smartphone OS. Instead, it runs on the BREW MP, something that we don't see very often. And though all of you made fun of me for having a hard time...

After the dust settled, the firm found Android's browser was 52 percent faster than...

Verizon Fivespot Review by Taylor

Posted:

Several mobile hotspot devices have made their way to PhoneDog for review, but the Verizon Fivespot is the first that is ready for global use. Made by ZTE, the Fivespot comes equipped with both a CDMA and a GSM radio for use in over 200 different countries. Offered for free of charge with a two-year agreement or $269.99 at full retail, it is definitely an affordable broadband solution. Unfortunately, the data prices don't follow suit. They're actually rather expensive. If you aren't...

HTC Arrive First Impressions by Aaron

Posted:

At this point, I think I've driven the pun phrase "the Arrive has arrived" into the ground.  At any rate, the HTC Arrive is in my hands, and after about 24 hours of use, it's…about the same as the other Windows Phone 7 devices, save for a physical QWERTY keyboard.  That aside, it's nice to see the CDMA Windows Phone - formerly known as the HTC 7 Pro - with official carrier branding.  The HTC Arrive lands at Sprint on March 20th, and will cost $199.99 with a...
