Infiniti Wants to Shift Gears in 2011, through F1 Deal to Increase brand Recognition in Europe

Infiniti is all set to make a big move, by signing a new deal with Formula One current ruling champion, to get a boost up in the brand's name recognition in Europe.

For the 2010 fiscal year up until March 31st, Infiniti has sold 4,500 cars in Western Europe. "One of the big barriers we face is a lack of awareness", "So we hope that Formula One, at least for our business in Western Europe, will turbo charge our levels of awareness," Infiniti Europe Vice President, Jim Wright, said on the floor of the Geneva Motor Show. He also stated that in 2011, Western Europe will be somewhere between 7,000 and 8000. Despite the increase, Infiniti is still far off the pace set by its closest competitors like Mercedes, Lexus, BMW and Audi in the segment. BMW, for instance, sold 10 times that amount in February alone.

Nissan Motor Co.'s luxury brand Infiniti now signed a marketing deal with Red Bull F1 team. Through this deal, Infiniti can advertise its name on nose cones, sides and the rear wings of the Red Bull racecars. The Infiniti logo will also be appear on the helmets and jumpsuits worn by Red Bull's drivers. The Red Bull's champion's team for the year 2010 is led by Sebastian Vettel, who became the first ever youngest driver to won F1 title.

Game is on…..not exactly the current World cup series; it's the field of competition that Microsoft tries to dominate. Kinect Sensor for Xbox 360 has reached sales of 10 million units in just 6-days.

Xbox 360 is the 2nd video game console fashioned by the Microsoft. Kinect is a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for Xbox 360 video game platform. This game append has become the "fastest selling consumer electronic device" and it has marked the Guinness book of world record with 133,333 sales per unit in a day with total 10 million units in 60 days.

Sony play station 3 and Nintendo which are in direct competition with Xbox 360 are really anxious about these record breaking sales. Nintendo wii took 2-years to achieve sales targets of 1 million, a figure far behind the sales of Kinect sensor for Xbox 360.

Such quick move by Microsoft reveals that sale of Nintendo 3D, which has been recently launched, will be effected. Gaming editor for Guinness book of record, Gaz Deaves said, "The sales figure here, speaks itself, according to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement in considering the strength of the sector".

Time will tell, what will be the competitor's responses regarding this mind-blowing sales!
