The game we are talking about is Hockey Nations 2011, which has previously been released for the Apple iPhone. In fact, according to Jon Jordan over at pocketgamer.co.uk, Keith gave the iPhone version a Pocket Gamer Silver award when he reviewed it.

F.E.A.R. 3: Multiplayer Modes Get Detailed

F.E.A.R. 3: Multiplayer Modes Get Detailed

If you're one of the many PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 gamers that are thinking about buying Day 1 Studios' much-anticipated F.E.A.R. 3 (AKA F.3.A.R.) game when it arrives, you might like to know a little more information about the four multiplayer modes that are included in the upcoming game.

According to Hamza CTZ Aziz from the destructoid.com website, the four modes include 'Soul King,' 'Soul Survivor,' 'Contractions' and 'F***ing Run.' After spending a bit of hands-on time with the four different modes, Hamza stated that the 'Soul King' mode was in fact his least favorite.

All gamers begin this mode as the Spectre (a ghost that is able to possess the bodies of humans), who unfortunately only has one simple projectile attack. However, finding and possessing humans enables the Spectre to make use of their weapons, including shotguns and assault rifles.

The overall aim of the 'Soul King' mode is to kill your enemies, collect their souls and end the game as the player with the most souls. Meanwhile, the 'Soul Survivor' mode starts off with four players in a room, where Alma randomly corrupts one of the players to convert them to the ghost side.

That corrupted player is then tasked with corrupting the remaining humans before the time runs out. 'Contractions' on the other hand is said to be very similar to the Call of Duty: Black Ops zombie mode. Players are tasked with defending their base against a wave of enemies.

Finally there is the 'F***ing Run' mode, which involves players running from checkpoint to checkpoint, while shooting enemies and attempting to avoid the 'Wall of Death.' You can view a preview video of the four multiplayer modes over on the destructoid.com website.

Are you eager to play the F.E.A.R. 3 game?

The DropBy 1.0 application is a way to help you remember to call into friends when you are in the neighborhood. You can plan your route when doing your rounds with the DropBy app compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

Just passing by and thought you should go and see that old friend of yours. Searching your contacts to find the exact location. Using a pin that you tap there's no need for scanning through all those names, with DropBy all your contacts from that location will be identified by a pin on a map.

The ease of zooming in to refine your search with a compass icon can make this a user friendly app. A re-load function helps extensive searches with a tap to certain areas using a zoom and pan map. If you know their house number but forgot their name, DropBy is able to show you all your contacts from that location with a pin.

The DropBy 1.0 can be the helpful guide for those who miss out on the old friendly visits. Forget to see that old friend or relative when frequenting an area. HTC Sense 3.0 Update: Sly Tactics by HTC, Encourages ROM Use

HTC Sense 3.0 Update: Sly Tactics by HTC, Encourages ROM Use

Earlier on, we told you about HTC’s surprising omission that their latest version of Sense UI will only be available on their newest devices, meaning that those of you with slightly older HTC handsets will not be able to enjoy the new and definitely more impressive visual enhancements to Sense.

HTC caused a storm by replying to a few messages on Twitter about which devices would be able to support Sense 3.0 or not: Here is what they said when a user asked if the UI update was coming to the far from old HTC Desire HD:

”Unfortunately not, as the newest iteration of Sense requires specific hardware that our older phones just don’t have. Sorry!”

They later elaborated on this further on Twitter, by saying that only newer devices such as the HTC Sensation 4G, EVO 3D and Flyer Tablet (EVO View 4G) would be able to support the new visual enhancements.

However, perhaps put under pressure by figures higher up in the HTC office, they later clarified the situation by adding the following Tweet which you should know about:

‘Clarification: aspects of the latest HTC Sense won't work on some previous devices. We are working to incorporate other aspects that will”

So they have basically taken a step back to say that they are still trying to get some parts of Sense 3.0 working on older devices. But make no mistake about it, they clearly said above that older devices do not have the hardware for the full upgrade – which is probably very frustrating for those of you who have just purchased devices such as the HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S.

As an HTC owner of an ‘older’ device, what are your thoughts on this? Do you think these are pretty sly tactics by the company? Dare we say it, but the move might also encourage users to seek the HTC Sense 3.0 update via other methods – you all know what we’re talking about here. Hopefully it won’t come to that though and HTC will keep everyone happy.

Twisted Metal: New PS3 Trailer before Full E3 2011 Reveal

Twisted Metal: New PS3 Trailer before Full E3 2011 Reveal

We have some good news for those of you who have been patiently waiting for further information on the highly anticipated Twisted Metal reboot for PS3, as we’re pleased to say that Sony has just released a brand new trailer for the game – and it’s pretty nice.

As PS3 fans will know, one of the biggest surprises of E3 2010, was indeed the confirmation of a new Twisted Metal game. Sony and more specifically Eat Play Sleep decided to keep the game a secret, even by telling lies, just to make sure that the game’s unveiling was a surprise and one which would leave a lasting impression on everyone’s minds after E3.

That was the last time we heard anything about the game, until now that is. Sony has released a brand new trailer, showing off unseen gameplay footage from the game and the included cutscenes may even provide hints about the single-player mode. Or it could just be part of the multiplayer – we’re not sure yet.

How badly are you looking forward to the new game? We’ve read some complaints that the graphics are not really that impressive, but they look pretty fine to us based on this new trailer. Don’t forget the game is a fast paced violent racer, so you could argue that the emphasis is not really on whether the graphics are the best looking on the PS3 or not.

Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts on the game. Are you ready to fall in love with Twisted Metal again?

Spotify Free – New Limits for Users: Buy Premium or Find Alternative

Spotify Free – New Limits for Users: Buy Premium or Find Alternative

We have some important news for those of you who regularly use the popular music streaming service Spotify, as the makers have just rolled out a few major changes to the PC version of the software, and it’s changes which may upset a few of you enjoying the free version of the device.

As our US readers will know too well, Spotify is still a Europe-only application, despite continued promises that a US release and releases in other countries are coming soon.

However, a recent update by the Spotify team has now introduced a wave of restrictions to those using the free version. For example, you’ll now only be able to listen to an individual song five times, and you’ll be restricted to just listening to just 10 hours per month – the equivalant of around 200 tracks or 20 albums.

It’s important to note that these changes are based on when you first created your Spotify account. The changes will be coming into affect from May 1st 2011, but a date of November 2010 has also been mentioned specifically – find out more about this on the official Spotify blog here, as reported from Engadget.

Unsurprisingly, these changes are for the free version only, so it’s clearly a ploy to get more users to sign up to Spotify premium which costs £9.99 a month for UK users and a similar fee to everyone else in Europe. Fans of Spotify are voicing their displeasure on the changes over on the Spotify Blog, but let us know your thoughts on it here.

Will you now buy Spotify Premium or will you say goodbye to Spotify in favor of an alternative service, such as Grooveshark for example.

Droid Incredible 2, Droid X 2 Prices on Verizon suggest Mid Level Class

Droid Incredible 2, Droid X 2 Prices on Verizon suggest Mid Level Class

We have some good news for those of you who planning to pick up either the HTC Droid Incredible 2 or Motorola Droid X 2 handsets on Verizon, as some leaked information has revealed a retail price for both handsets – and we’re pleased to say that there isn’t any surprises.

The guys over at Phone Arena have managed to get hold of some Verizon intel, and it confirms that both the Droid Incredible 2 and the Motorola Droid X 2 will be available for $199 on two-year contracts with Verizon. Just to let you know, this is the standard price that Verizon debuts for new handsets, although this has now changed for their 4G smartphones.

For example, the document also reveals that the upcoming LG Revolution will be priced at $249, which is a 4G LTE handset on Verizon and it’s also the same price as the current HTC Thunderbolt handset on Verizon – another 4G LTE phone.

It’s probably too harsh to say that this will result in the Droid Incredible 2 and Motorola Droid X 2 being labelled as ‘mid entry’ smartphones, rather than their 4G LTE premium devices as the price lists suggests, but we’ll just have to wait and see what both handsets offer in terms of hardware and features, as it’s still pure speculation at the moment.

What are your thoughts on the $199 price tags for the two phones – surprised or not?

Skype for Android Hacked, Personal Data an Easy Target

We have some bad news for those of you who use Skype regularly on your Android handset, as it has been confirmed that a serious flaw has been discovered in the App, a flaw which would allow hackers to easily gain access to all of your personal information on your phone.

The flaw was discovered by the guys over at Android Police, and to prove that this was a serious problem, they even built an app called Skypwned which goes straight for all of your personal data as a result of this loophole in Skype.

It turns out that the Skype for Android app contains some SQLite3 databases, but these were not properly protected by Skype, and as a result the app is wide open for attack. There is an included video below which shows you exactly the problem at hand and how easy it is to swipe all of your personal data from Skype without the need for any usernames or passwords.

The good news, is that Skype are now aware of this problem and are investigating further. However, it doesn’t exactly put the minds at ease for the 10 million Skype users on Android does it.

Watch the video below and let us know your thoughts on this. Are you disappointed with Skype that your information can be stolen so easily? We’ll let you know when a fix is available.

White iPhone 4 will keep Momentum going until iPhone 5 Release

It almost seems sad for this saga to come to an end, but Apple has now confirmed that the White iPhone 4 will be available this Spring following on from Bloomberg’s recent article that we told you about. However, it also means that it’s very unlikely we’ll see the iPhone 5 this Summer, with a release now more likely to happen after Apple’s Fall event.

Apple has not issued an official statement on the matter, but they have already confirmed the White iPhone 4 will be available this Spring according to this new article over at the Wall Street Journal.

However, they didn’t state which carrier the White model would be available on. Will it be available on both AT&T and Verizon at the same time, or will one carrier have to sit back and wait for a while?

It also poses consumers with some difficult decisions to make – do you still buy this White iPhone 4 this month just because it’s the most stylish iPhone available, or is too late in your eyes and you have decided to wait for the iPhone 5 announcement, which is heavily rumored to be happening after Summer now.

Whatever happens, it’s a smart move by Apple as the sudden availability of the White iPhone 4 could lighten the mood over the Summer to those who will be disappointed that no iPhone 5 will be present at WWDC 2011.

Let us know what you intend to do about this dilemma. White iPhone 4 or iPhone 5 folks?

Nintendo Wii HD: ‘Hardcore’ Console More Powerful than Xbox 360, PS3?

Following on from our earlier report which gave you the exciting news that a new Nintendo Wii console could be unveiled at E3 2011 in June, we now have additional information to give you now, which suggests that the new console will be more powerful than the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360.

Of course, it’s hard to believe that based on what we’ve seen with the Wii, but we can’t wait to see what Nintendo announce in just a few months time. Since Game Informer and now IGN and Kotaku are now all reporting that a new console is on the way – it does seem likely that Nintendo fans are going to get that Wii HD console that they have been craving for years.

But will it really be more powerful than the PS3 or Xbox 360? That would be amazing if that turns out to be true since both consoles can churn out some serious graphics as it is, who would have thought it would be Nintendo who ends up with the superior console – until the PS4 and Xbox 720 arrives anyway.

Another major bombshell that we’re hearing about, is that Nintendo are aiming to recapture the hardcore audience with their new console, so could that mean we’ve seen the last of these silly Wii Fit and Party games? Make our dreams come true Nintendo.. and remake Link to the Past while you’re at it please.

Let us know your thoughts on this gamers. Do you believe the rumors that Nintendo are building a console more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PS3?

Rumors grow of new Nintendo Wii at E3

We told you yesterday that the Nintendo Wii could be getting a price cut next month, and wondered if this meant that Nintendo were getting ready for the announcement of a new console. Now we can report that rumors of a new Nintendo Wii being announced at this year's E3 are growing.

Matthew Kato from Game Informer is reporting that multiple sources are hinting that Nintendo will reveal the new Wii at this year's E3, or even sooner. The sources are claiming that the new system will be capable of running HD games. They have been getting conflicting stories on whether the graphics will be on par with the PS3 and Xbox 360.

If the console does have HD compatibility it will help Nintendo's relationship with third-party publishers and developers. There are also claims that Nintendo are already showing the new system to publishers to give them time to start work on titles. The new Wii is also claimed to be launching late in 2012, and it could be a completely new concept.

These are only rumors but sales of the Wii are falling now due to increased competition with motion controllers. The time has probably come for Nintendo to bring us a new console, and they are not likely to disappoint.

Is it time for a new console from Nintendo?

Ford F-150: Recall widened to include 1.2 million trucks

Back in February we told you about Ford recalling 144,000 of its F-150 pickup trucks. The recall affected vehicles made from 2005 to 2006, and was down to the trucks having faulty airbags. Today we can give you the news that the Ford-150 recall has been widened to include 1.2 million trucks.

Jerry Hirsch from the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the recall is being widened to include trucks made in other factories in Dearborn, Mich., and Kansas City, Mo., in the 2004 and 2006 model years. Federal safety regulators have said there have been 269 incidents which makes it the biggest recall of its kind.

Before the problem was thought to be confined to trucks built in the now closed plant in Norfolk, Va., during 2005 and 2006. The recall is voluntary and NHTSA Administrator David Strickland said he was "pleased" with the decision by Ford.

According to the NHTSA so far there have been around 98 injuries after the airbags suddenly deploying without being involved in an accident, and two owners suffered permanent eye damage. Ford had said before they were aware of 238 incidents causing 77 injuries but no fatalities.

The Ford F-series is the biggest selling truck in America, and was the top selling vehicle of any type last year. Ford has said the airbags have gone off after a warning lamp had gone off indicating the system should be checked. A wire which had been incorrectly installed in the steering wheel has been the cause of the problems.

Owners will be contacted by Ford to bring their trucks into their local dealer for correction work, which will take around half a day. Ford is also recalling the Lincoln Mark LT for the same fault.

Do you own one of the Ford trucks affected by the recall?

HTC Sense 3.0: Updated UI will only be on new devices

HTC have announced that their recently updated Android interface, Sense 3.0, will unfortunately not be available for the Taiwanese company's older handsets.

The company had already announced earlier this week the latest in their long line of new smartphones the Sensation. It will be the likes of this handset along with the EVO 3D and Flyer tablet, which will be getting the updated Sense 3.0 according to an article on Engadget by Vlad Savov.

This will be frustrating for people who have recently picked up the Desire S or the Incredible S. The news was confirmed via the HTC Tweeter feed, after a follower asked a question asking when the new version of Sense would be making its way to older devices. A HTC spokesperson replied it would only be available on the latest handsets because of the hardware requirements of Sense 3.0.

The new Sense UI will have among its features 3D widgets, smart lock screen shortcuts, and 360-degree menu carousels. HTC did leave another message on Twitter later though, saying that some of the features of Sense 3.0 will indeed make it to older handsets.

Are you disappointed that the full version of Sense 3.0 will not be coming to many HTC cell phones?

Meanwhile, Sega's Streets of Rage 2 game enables users to play as one of four different characters: Blaze, Max, Skate or Axel. The game sees you battling against 2D enemies with a mixture of fists, knives, grenades, lead pipes and even golf clubs. You can even play your friends via Bluetooth.

Worst Discontinued Cars 2011 List – Is Your Motor Included?

Have you ever wondered which autos are considered to be the worst discontinued cars ever? We have an updated list to give you, of models which have been discontinued either this year or last year, either due to lack of popularity, poor engineering or poor manufacturing.

Interestingly, we told you earlier how the Cadillac Escalade made it to the top of the list, a list in fact of the most stolen vehicles of 2010, and again a Cadillac model makes it to the top of the worst discontinued cars list.

That model is the Cadillac STS, as although it’s still available to buy now in some areas for around $46,000 the model has now been discontinued by General Motors, and is listed as one of the 10 motors to stay clear of over at Money USNews.

Another model which you may be surprised to see discontinued is the 2009 Dodge Durango, which we bet some of you car lovers still possess since it used to be one of the most popular SUVs around a few years ago now. However, you should approach it with caution now, as Chrysler has now sealed off all entrances to the assembley line of this model, so there will not be any upgrades or further support.

You can view the full list over at Money USNews above. Alternatively, we’ve found another list of ‘worst discontinued cars’ over at MSN Autos here. Do you own a motor which has now been discontinued by it’s manufacturer? If so, leave us a comment below.
