HTC Inspire 4G vs. Google Nexus S Dogfight Pt. 1 Posted: Capping out a week of epic dogfight battles, Aaron throws the HTC Inspire 4G and the Google Nexus S into the ring to see which one comes out on top! On one hand, the HTC Inspire 4G has a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera, Android 2.2 with HTC's new Sense 2.0 user interface, and a rockin' price of $99.99 with a two-year agreement. The Google Nexus S is also $99.99 at Best Buy (for a limited time only) and offers a 1 GHz Hummingbird...
Sprint offering up to $125 in service credit for porting a number in Posted: Just a quick heads up for anyone in the hunt for a new cellular provider: Sprint is offering service credits to anyone that ports into their network. Anyone that switches to Sprint and picks up a smartphone will receive a $125 credit after 60 days of use, which can then be applied to your monthly bill. If featurephones are more your speed, you'll still be applicable for a credit, although you'll only be receiving $50 for jumping ship. The offer is good until April 16th, meaning you've got some...
What is with all of the hype and hysteria surrounding Apple products? Posted: Apple's products have a history of drawing rather large crowds to stores on launch day. Some people take off work a week or more in advance and head to the concrete jungle to set up camp outside their local Apple or carrier store. Gone are the days that people arrive early just to be the first to get their hands on the latest and greatest Apple product. Amanda Foote , a college student living in New York, headed to Apple's flagship store on Wednesday and got in line at 5 PM. That's...
Samsung Galaxy S II, SCH-I708, and SGH-T839 all pass through the FCC Posted: Samsung has singlehandedly been keeping the FCC busy today, passing a handful of new devices through our favorite department of the government. First up, we've got the Galaxy S II, which got the A-OK for use on AT&T's bands (850/1900Mhz GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSPA) today. This shouldn't be taken as confirmation that AT&T will actually be offering the Galaxy S II, but considering how widely distributed the original model was, I'm sure Ma Bell will eventually be selling some variation of the device....
AT&T says it's not capping HSUPA speeds, will be enabling HSUPA on Atrix 4G Posted: AT&T has been surprisingly quiet during the entire Android-HSUPA situation, saying only that their HSUPA-capable lineup would be growing in the future. Today the carrier finally responded to claims that it has been intentionally capping HSUPA speeds on some of its devices, explaining that it hasn't "'capped' the upload speeds on the ATRIX" and that it's currently testing the feature to prepare it to be rolled out to every Atrix in the wild. However, there's no mention of exactly when HSUPA will...
Rumor: HTC ThunderBolt, Trophy hitting Verizon later this month [UPDATED] Posted: The weekend may be close, but that doesn't mean we don't have time to slip in one more HTC ThunderBolt launch rumor before the weekend hits. The folks over at Android Central were just slipped the image you see above, claiming that the TBolt will be arriving on March 17th, just in time for you to pick up a new phone before kicking off the St. Patrick's Day festivities. The ThunderBolt isn't the only upcoming handset in that image that's without a launch date, though, as the HTC...
Samsung's WiFi-only Galaxy Tab finally launching April 4th for $399? Posted: Samsung's WiFi-only Galaxy Tab was the subject of a few leaks last year as many consumers pined for a version of the 7-inch tablet with a slightly lower price tag than its cellular data-capable brethren. The WiFi-only Tab was finally made official at CES this year and given a Q1 launch date, and now it appears that Sammy is finally gearing up to release the device. According to a flyer allegedly handed out by a Samsung rep, the cellular-less Galaxy Tab should finally begin shipping on April 4th...
Adobe pushing Flash Player 10.2 onto the Android Market on March 18th Posted: Last night, Motorola announced that it would be pushing out an update to the XOOM to prepare it for the arrival of Adobe Flash Player 10.2. Today more info on the launch of Flash Player 10.2 has come out, with Adobe announcing that it will be making the software available in the Android Market beginning Friday, March 18th. In order to be compatible with the newest version of Flash, a device must be running either Android 2.2, 2.3, or 3.0.1. New features inside Flash Player 10.2 include hardware...
NVIDIA Tegra 2-equipped devices gaining access to the PlayStation Suite Posted: In the past, gaming was thought to be one of Android's weak points, especially compared to competitors like iOS. Things have been getting much better as of late, though, and today Android gaming got another shot in the arm. NVIDIA has announced via the Tegra Zone that Sony's PlayStation Suite will be made available to Tegra 2-powered devices later this year. There are also reports that PlayStation 2 games will eventually made available in the Suite. This is great news for Android, and...
iPhone 5 renders leak, show similar design but larger display? Posted: There's been a lot of rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 and the debate over whether or not Apple will increase the handset's screen size. Today more evidence of an increase has seemingly emerged via iDealsChina, the same source of a previous iPhone 5 display leak. As you can see, the renders look exactly like an iPhone 4, save for the fact that there's a bit less bezel on the face of phone. The site says that the drawings were just sent over to them and are used to create various kinds of cases...

Motorola XOOM update to prep for Flash begins rolling out tonight Posted: Last month, we learned that the Motorola XOOM wouldn't launch with the capability to access Flash content, even though that that's one of the major selling points of the device. It appears that the feature is finally about to make it to the XOOM, though, as Moto just tweeted that an update will begin rolling out tonight that'll prep it to support Flash Player 10.2. However, there's still no word on exactly when Flash will actually arrive. It's also worth noting that anyone that's sporting an...
