Recently, Monico was selected by Caterpillar® to provide the control and monitoring interface gateways for a fracturing truck project in Texas. Caterpillar® will be using CAT 3512 diesel engines with new CAT TH55 electronic transmissions. Monico has a long-standing, unique and successful history with this application, and were thus the obvious choice to partner with Caterpillar® for this 20 engine project.

The engines pump fluid down-hole into the shale formations, putting massive fractures in the shale rock formations and allowing the natural gas to be extracted. Operationally, this is a tough service on engines and transmissions. Because of this, Monico is implementing a new feature offered by CAT called Kickout to Neutral. This feature allows for safety settings for each transmission gear. If certain outlet pressures are achieved, the transmission will automatically shift into neutral and protect the engine and pump components.

Monico is also providing control inputs via our J1939 Gateway for torque converter lockup, engine start/stop in both normal and emergency mode and speed control. The unique ability to provide multiple pre-configured solutions for simultaneous integration via Modbus or direct integration with Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Siemens, and Omron PLC control systems made Monico an easy choice to help with the Caterpillar® project. Monico's ability to quickly implement proprietary PGNs that are specific to Caterpillar® in these operations sealed the deal.

This effort between Caterpillar® and Monico, Inc builds our expertise on applications done previously for Freemeyer Industrial Pressure. In fact, Monico has also shipped a follow-on order for 26 more engine systems to Freemeyer for almost identical applications. What does make SWING PDF Converter unique?

First, SWING PDF Converter is created specifically for Lotus Notes documents and emails. This means that Lotus Notes users can convert single or multiple emails/documents, together with file attachments, so all the information including the original layout is preserved. A log cottage owned by Canadian painter, patron and philanthropist Isabel McLaughlin will be erected at Bartlett Lodge this May and June. "The Cabin", as Isabel called, it will be a guest lounge and will include two rooms available for Bartlett guest accommodations.

Isabel McLaughlin, born October 10, 1903, was one of 5 daughters of Col. R.S. McLaughlin of Oshawa, Ontario. "Colonel Sam" was the founder of General Motors of Canada. Isabel studied in Paris at the Sorbonne in her late teens and then at the Ontario College of Art under Group of Seven member, Arthur Lismer and artist Yvonne McKague Housser. Isabel counted many famous Canadian Artists among her friends. She traveled with Lawren and Bess Harris, entertained A.Y. Jackson at "The Cabin" and worked closely with Prudence Heward, Anne Savage and other members of the Beaver Hall Group of Painters.

Isabel McLaughlin was an attractive, talented, popular and wealthy woman who chose to remain unmarried. Her independence gave her time to travel and participate in many arts organizations. In 1933 she helped found the Canadian Group of Painters and served as President in 1939. Throughout her life, she made donations to many charities and provided financial support to other artists. Isabel was one of very few Canadians to receive both the Order of Ontario in 1993 and The Order of Canada in 1997. Isabel died in Toronto on November 26, 2002 at age of 99.

Although the origin of the Isabel McLaughlin cabin that Bartlett Lodge is reassembling on their Algonquin Park resort property is unknown, the large white pine logs used to construct "The Cabin" were found in the Muskoka, Algonquin Park and Ottawa Valley area. It was probably built in one of those areas between 1840 and 1870. Isabel McLaughlin had the building moved and re-erected just north of Toronto on a rural property she owned in Aurora, Ontario. "The Cabin" became a popular place for Isabel to entertain her artist friends. Her personal papers contain references to visits at "The Cabin" with Lawren and Bess Harris, A.Y. Resorts of Ontario, Ontario's leading association of tourist resorts and inns, announces the election of Shelia Maxwell as the new president of Resorts of Ontario

On March 28, 2011, Resorts of Ontario (http://www.resortsofontario.com ), an association representing nearly 100 of the province's finest resort hotels, lodges, cottage resorts and country inns, held its annual general meeting and preferred supplier's tradeshow at Nottawasaga Inn and Resort located in Alliston, Ontario. Sheila Maxwell of the Briars Resort and Spa was elected as the new president of Resorts of Ontario.

Born in Scotland, Sheila grew up in Toronto where she attended York University. During her summers she worked at seasonal resorts in Haliburton and fell in love with the tourism industry. With an educational background from York, Sheila also graduated with honours from Hotel Management at George Brown College. Sheila has worked in the industry for 25 years and is currently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Briars Resort and Spa.

Sheila has served on the Board for Resorts of Ontario for the past 8 years. She succeeded Mark Rich – Director of Sales at Blue Mountain Resort who served as president from March 2009 – 2011. As outgoing president Mark will continue to serve the board of directors as chairman of the board.
