Samsung DROID Charge definitely not coming tomorrow, says Costco screenshot Posted: Bad news for those of you that are looking forward to the Samsung DROID Charge launch: it looks like the device won't be launching tomorrow like we head that it might. According to a new Costco screenshot sent over to Android Central, the DCharge's arrival "has been further delayed" for "all national retailers" and that it will absolutely, positively "not launch tomorrow." There's no indication as to when we can expect Verizon to actually make the Charge available, but Costco will apparently... |

Shown off at CES, the Charge offers a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8-megapixel camera, front-facing camera, and Android 2.2 with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. It was supposed to launch on April 28th, but has been pushed back indefinitely due to issues with the carrier's 4G network. As expected, it's a good addition to Verizon's ever-growing... |
Samsung DROID Charge Review Pt. 1 Posted: Aaron takes a look at the Samsung DROID Charge , Verizon's second 4G LTE device. Announced back at CES, the Charge offers a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8-megapixel camera, front-facing shooter, and Android 2.2 with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. It was supposed to launch on April 28th, but has been pushed back indefinitely due to issues with the carrier's 4G network. As expected, it's a good addition to Verizon's ever-growing 4G LTE... |
Ice Cream Sandwich seemingly confirmed as the next version of Android Posted: There's been a lot of speculation as to exactly which dessert would be given the honor of being the "I" version of Android , but today we may finally be able to put the matter to rest. Known Googler RomainGuy recently posted a response to an issue on the Android support forum which said that a bug fix for the problem in question "will be provided in Ice Cream Sandwich." This certainly isn't the first time that the Ice Cream Sandwich name has been mentioned , but it is the closest we've... |
HTC EVO 3D now secretly available for pre-order at Best Buy Posted: Interested in pre-ordering the HTC EVO 3D? What if I told you that you could secretly pre-order it? Yeah, I thought you'd be interested. According to a memo sent to our friends at Android Central, today Best Buy Mobile has begun "quietly" accepting pre-orders for the EVO 3D. What does that mean? You've got to actually talk to an employee and mention the pre-sale yourself, as Best Buy employees aren't allowed to mention the pre-sale or create any type of signage promoting it. So if you want to... |
Should carriers be more up-front with consumers? Posted: There are so many companies all over the world, with so much invested in not only the way they operate, but also the way that we, as consumers, go about our lives. Even the smallest things that these companies do has an effect on the way that we buy things, talk about a certain device, or skip over a product altogether. However, what may be more of a driving factor for some consumers is when a company just doesn’t do anything at all – or acts after the fact, and doesn’t... |
Samsung and AT&T teaming up to make a special announcement on Thursday, May 5th Posted: If you're on AT&T and in the market for a new smartphone, you may want to wait a few days before deciding which device to get. Invites are currently being sent out for an event on Thursday, May 5th, where Samsung and AT&T will be teaming up to make a "special announcement." There's no indication as to exactly what Sammy and ATT have up their collective sleeves for Thursday's gathering, but we can think of a few possibilities. The Nexus S is certainly one of them, as we've seen... |

Motorola DROID 3, DROID X2 sneak into Best Buy's system Posted: Looking forward to the Motorola DROID 3 and DROID X2/X^2 ? You'll be excited to know that both devices have just popped up in Best Buy's Cellebrite systems, complete with their respective model numbers. The DROID 3 is also known as the XT862, which is interesting since the DROIDs before it were known as the A855 and A955, and the DROID X2 sports the model number MB870. Although neither device has an official launch date, we've heard that the X2 could arrive this month, a rumor which... |

BlackBerry 7 official, features Liquid Graphics and browser enhancements [UPDATED] Posted: Today is the first day of RIM's BlackBerry World conference down in Orlando, and hot on the heels of its announcement of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 devices, the Waterloo-based firm also made the BlackBerry 7 OS official. Originally slated to simply be BlackBerry 6.1, RIM decided to rebrand the OS as BlackBerry 7 because "it's such a big update from 6." So what exactly will you find inside BB 7? First off, you're getting "Liquid Graphics," which RIM says will help render objects faster as well as... |

Motorola planning more laptop docks that will cover a broader price point Posted: When the Motorola Atrix 4G launched earlier this year, the one feature that everyone seemed to be talking about was its ability to dock into a laptop and become a netbook of sorts. The laptop dock ended up being a bit hit or miss with consumers, though, with many folks feeling that the accessory was simply too expensive to justify picking up alongside their shiny new Atrix. However, last week during Moto's earnings call, CEO Sanjay Jha touched briefly on his company's future plans for laptop... |
