Last year T-Mobile had one heck of a Father's Day promotion, offering its entire lineup of handsets for absolutely free on-contract. Now that Mother's Day is near, folks have been wondering what, if anything, Magenta is planning to do to celebrate. Our friends at TmoNews have been handed a photo showing that some stores may be offering a $100 credit per line this weekend for anyone signing up for a two-year contract with a qualifying plan. The T-Mobile G2x was just named the top smartphone currently available on Magenta — in our opinion, anyway — and we've got the perfect way for those of you that own the handset to celebrate: Gingerbread! Now before you get too excited, this isn't an official roll out, but a leaked build of Android 2.3.3 for you to download and install. The source of the leak claims that this build could very well be the official version that'll eventually be pushed out to everyone. Packed inside the ROM is a...

Ah, Cinco de Mayo.  The day of Spanish food, alcohol, and thanks to Samsung, the Infuse 4G .  Launching on May 15th for $199.99, the Samsung Infuse 4G packs a 1.2 GHz processor, gigantic 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8-megapixel camera, front-facing shooter for video calling, and Android 2.2 with TouchWiz 3.0.  It's certainly pushing the divide between "super large smartphone" and "baby tablet," but at 8.9mm thick, it's one of the thinnest devices on the market. ...

G2X is now number one on PhoneDog's Top Smartphones list

Posted:

I think everyone here was expecting the T-Mobile G2X to end up on a Top Smartphones list at some point, so it's not too surprising that we've made it number one. With its dual-core 1 GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera that captures full 1080p HD video, and super-fast HSPA+ capabilities, this one is kind of a no-brainer. The G1 was ground-breaking and brought on a new era, the G2 was just as fantastic, and now the G2X is more than worthy of taking the reins. The stock build of Android...

During Q1 2011, T-Mobile added 372,000 prepaid customers thanks in part to the popularity of unlimited prepaid plans, but ended up losing 471,000 contract customers. That means that T-Mo lost a total of 99,000 customers, quite a bit more than the 23,000 total loss in Q4 2010, bringing them to a total customer base of...

Remember that HTC ThunderBolt update that we told you about the other day? Yeah, that one . When you head to Verizon's support page for the TBolt, it simply says that the new software is "COMING SOON!". There's no word on exactly why the update was pushed back, but hopefully we'll be seeing it arrive sooner...
