Motorola Atrix 4G's HSUPA-enabling update now available

Boy, if you love Android updates, today is your lucky day. Both the HTC ThunderBolt and Nexus One began getting updates of their own over the air today, and now Motorola has announced that the Atrix 4G's 4.1.83 update is also now rolling out to users. This particular bit of software, which we first learned about last week, not only enables HSUPA on the Atrix but also brings enhanced calling functionality, an improved Skype app, and all kinds of other goodies. Just a hair under a month ago, T-Mobile announced that it would be expanding its 4G HSPA+ coverage to 10 new markets across the U.S. Today our friends at Magenta have flipped the 4G switch in a few more markets, including Boulder, Colo., Fort Myers, Fla., and Wilkes Barre-Scranton, Pa. Bing to become the default search engine, mapping tool on BlackBerry

At today's BlackBerry World keynote, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer surprised everyone by climbing on the stage to announce that Bing will become the default search engine on BlackBerry smartphones going forward. Ballmer also explained that Bing Maps is now the default mapping application on RIM's smartphones, but that Microsoft's search service will be integrated with BlackBerry devices at the OS level. Yesterday we learned about RIM's new BlackBerry 7 OS and all of the new features that it'll pack when it lands on the 9900/9930 later this year. The company also touched on a couple of things that BB 7 won't feature, though, which anyone looking forward to the OS may want to know about.
