Olin Business School Research Finds Home Field Advantage in Negotiations Posted: 22 Apr 2011 03:09 AM PDT Olin Business School Research Finds Home Field Advantage in Negotiations Organizational behavior professor discusses findings of study on negotiations. (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Planning to negotiate a raise? Try not to discuss it with the boss in his or her office, suggests a new study by an organizational behavior expert at Washington University in St. Louis. "Parties who negotiate on their home field can be expected to claim between 60 percent and 160 percent more value than the visiting party," says Markus Baer, PhD, assistant professor of organizational behavior at Olin Business School. Baer's latest study, "Location in Negotiation: Is There a Home Field Advantage?" is among the first to empirically demonstrate that there is indeed a home-field advantage in negotiation. It appears in the March edition of the journal Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Baer and his research partner, Graham Brown, PhD, of the University of British Columbia, set out to test the generally accepted theory that a home-field advantage exists, not only in sports but also in business negotiations. They found that it does, but that the confidence of the person entering the negotiation as visitor can go a long way in evening the playing field. "There was surprisingly little systemic research examining whether location matters in negotiation," Baer says. "And no study explains why it would matter. Does a person in their own environment perform better, or does a visitor to their office perform worse? As a result, home field advantage remains one of the least understood phenomena in negotiation." Baer and Graham set up a series of three experiments. In the first, students assumed the status of "resident" and were taken to a private office. They were given 20 minutes to make the office their own by choosing a chair, putting their name outside the office, choosing posters to put up, writing their schedule on a board and logging into a computer to check their email. They were also given a key to the office. They were then told they would be negotiating with a fellow student over the price of a pound of coffee. Participants assuming the role of a "visitor" were told that they would be negotiating with a fellow student who had an office because he or she was entering data for a professor in the department thus leading them to believe that the "resident" party had a permanent claim to the office. The experiment showed that residents clearly outperformed visitors. By creating a third condition—a "neutral party" who was led to believe that the resident party did not have a permanent claim to the office but just happened to have arrived a little earlier—the authors were able to also show that the home-field advantage may be due both to a resident advantage and a visitor disadvantage. That is, residents did better than a neutral party, who, in turn, outperformed visitors. The second experiment examined the role of confidence in explaining exactly why the home turf advantage arises. It was designed exactly as the first, however before the negotiation, participants took a questionnaire designed to measure confidence. This experiment showed that the advantage of residents over visitors in distributive negotiations can at least partly be explained by the different levels of confidence residents and visitors are likely to have from knowing that they will be negotiating on their home field or on someone else's territory. In the final experiment, visitors' confidence levels were manipulated by having students provide answers to a fake assessment. They were told that based on the assessment, their negotiating skills were quite high and they should do well in the negotiation. The results of the experiment showed that boosting visitor's confidence levels before the negotiation can help to eliminate the home field advantage. "Our findings suggest that location is an important factor to consider when examining the forces shaping outcomes of distributive negotiations and, therefore, should be incorporated into existing approaches to negotiation," Baer writes in the paper. However, Baer's research suggests one way of overcoming home-field advantage if the location of a negotiation cannot be changed. "Confidence plays a critical role in any negotiation, regardless of where it takes place," Baer says. "Anything a person entering a negotiation can do to boost his or her confidence is a good thing. Something as simple as participating in negotiation training may work to minimize the disadvantage of negotiating on someone else's home turf." Schaaf-PartnerCentric Launches New Corporate Website at SchaafPC.com Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:04 AM PDT Schaaf-PartnerCentric Launches New Corporate Website at SchaafPC.com Affiliate program management firm Schaaf-PartnerCentric debuts its new website at http://www.schaafpc.com. (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Schaaf-PartnerCentric, an affiliate program management firm, has launched its new corporate website at SchaafPC.com. Schaaf-PartnerCentric was formed in April 2010 when Schaaf Consulting acquired PartnerCentric, Inc. to form one of the largest outsourced program management (OPM) companies in the United States. The agency is led by CEO Brook Schaaf and COO Forrest Schaaf. "Our new website serves two key purposes – to promote the affiliate programs that are under our management to potential affiliate partners – and to define our affiliate program management services to merchants who need help in the affiliate channel," said Brook Schaaf. More than 40 affiliate programs are now being managed by the team at Schaaf-PartnerCentric. Through the new website, potential affiliates are able to access details about each program. Programs are searchable by vertical (home furnishings, electronics, women's fashion, jewelry, sporting goods, etc.). Affiliates are able to apply to interact with the affiliate manager for each program and apply to join programs of interest through the website's interface. "One of the most important things we accomplished with this new website is tearing down the usual barriers and allowing potential affiliate partners or merchant clients to meet the experienced affiliate marketers who comprise our team," Brook Schaaf said. "You can read about the team members, find out which programs they manage and contact the affiliate managers directly to ask questions and exchange information." The new website also features case studies that provide insights into the best practices that Schaaf-PartnerCentric brings to each program so that the agency can deliver innovative, indispensable affiliate program management. Schaaf-PartnerCentric manages many of the top-performing affiliate programs in the performance marketing industry including 21st Century Auto Insurance, Constant Contact, Moosejaw and Stamps.com. For the full list of affiliate programs managed by Schaaf-PartnerCentric, visit http://www.schaafpc.com/clientprograms. Relationship building with affiliate partners is one of the strengths at Schaaf-PartnerCentric. The new website, online at http://www.schaafpc.com, features testimonials from existing clients, such as this one from Jeremy Young, CEO of Tanga.com: "The team at Schaaf-PartnerCentric have become an extension of the Tanga family. Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:04 AM PDT Signal and Power Delivery Systems Introduces World's First Line of Low Profile Molded Hospital Grade USA Power Cord Plugs SPDS (Signal and Power Delivery Systems) introduces world's first line of low profile molded hospital grade USA power cord plugs, an ideal solution for all medical and hospital installations where space is limited. Campbell, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Various medical and hospital equipment applications require power cords with "green dot" certification and UL approval. Until now, power cords for medical applications containing the NEMA 5-20P, NEMA 6-15P or NEMA 6-20P needed to use expensive and bulky assembly style or molded plugs. This new line of products from SPDS is the world's first line of hospital grade power cord plugs that are all molded, low profile and UL approved for hospital grade power cords. The power cords used in medical applications must have the green dot prominently displayed on the plug of the product to clearly show that it conforms to the more stringent and rugged requirements for materials and construction as defined in Underwriter Laboratories specifications UL817, UL60601-1 and UL498. UL specification 60601-1 specifically states that all patient care equipment must use power cords with hospital grade attachment plugs. The fundamental differences between normal NEMA plugs and the hospital grade versions of the same plugs are; 1. Prong blades must be of solid brass construction without folding. "These new line of molded low profile medical power cords are ideal for virtually any hospital grade power cord application," says Ivo Landre, President of Signal and Power Delivery Systems, Inc. "Until now, 20 amp and 15 amp medical applications needed to use clunky and expensive assembly style or molded plugs. These new power cords not only provide rugged functionality in a very small footprint but are also much less expensive than what's currently out there," he continues. The NEMA 5-20P, NEMA 6-15P and NEMA 6-20P power cord molded plugs are all available in straight or right angle configurations. They can be made with various wire styles from 12 thought 18AWG and have a variety of receptacles, cord lengths and colors available as well. New Flood Control System a Success during Recent Red River Flood in East Grand Forks Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:04 AM PDT New Flood Control System a Success during Recent Red River Flood in East Grand Forks The flood control system established in East Grand Forks after the devastating 1997 Red River flood was put to the test this weekend when the Red River crested at 49.85 feet – and passed with flying colors. East Grand Forks, MN (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 "Some of the closures had two to three-and-a-half feet of water against them," said Scott Gravseth, Distribution Superintendent at East Grand Forks Water and Light. "Overall we observed good performance with minimal seepage." The city installed the Invisible Flood Control Wall (IFCW) in response to the 1997 flood in which the sandbags and levees didn't hold, submerging Main Street in four feet of water and causing an estimated $500 million in damage. City officials said they opted for the IFCW to preserve the aesthetics of the community, since it is only erected in the event of a flood. The main section of the IFCW that runs along the river in front of the Blue Moose Bar and Grill, Applebee's, and Cabela's, was installed in under 8 hours. "Obviously, we're very proud to have helped protect the great city of East Grand Forks," said John Fryklund, Director of Marketing for Flood Control America, which is the manufacturer and distributor of the IFCW. "And the city of East Grand Forks can be proud to be protected by a system manufactured entirely in the United States by American workers." Because of the East Grand Forks project, the IFCW was awarded the "Seven Wonders of Engineering in Minnesota Award for Distinguished Engineering Achievement 2000" by the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers, and was recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce Economic Development Administration as one of its five major "success stories" in the 20th century. ### For the original version on PRWeb visit: http://www.prweb.com/releases/prweb2011/4/prweb8330119.htm |
Scholarship Remembering a Child’s Strength Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:03 AM PDT Scholarship Remembering a Child's Strength The Keegan Scot Southers Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to memorialize a child's battle with several heart complications. Keegan did not beat these complications, but his family wants to remember his strength and courage by offering a scholarship to a student that has fought a similar conflict and won. Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) has recently announced a new scholarship created to memorialize a child's battle with several heart complications. Keegan Scot Southers did not beat these complications, but his family wants to remember his strength and courage by offering a scholarship to a student that has fought a similar conflict and won. Keegan was born July 8, 2009 with his twin, Wyatt. Keegan was a bouncing baby boy that loved to play and laugh with his family. The only thing that made Keegan different was that he was born with Heterotaxy Syndrome, Complete Heart Block and Tetralogy of Fallot. Four days after he was born he received a pacemaker. Eight months later, he was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and spent time in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital before being placed on the heart transplant list. Although he fought bravely, his little heart couldn't hold out, and he passed away on July 25, 2010. Keegan's family wants to assist students who have overcome a similar battle in reaching their goals of higher education. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must show proof that they have been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease and/or received a heart transplant. Students also must be from the Greater Cincinnati area (within the I-275 loop) with proven financial need. The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full time student at a college or university and must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Also required is a complete CSF application, which can be found at http://www.CincinnatiScholarshipFoundation.org with a recommendation letter from a guidance counselor, if currently in high school, or a professor, if currently in college. "Keegan's family has been through a lot of joy and turmoil in the past few years. Little Keegan was such a gift, strong and courageous through all of his medical visits. He had a zest for life and loved his family. The Southers family is offering hope to those that have lived through the same trials as their son did. The opportunity to continue on to college is such a milestone for each of these young men and women," comments Ned Hertzenberg, CSF President. The Keegan Scot Southers Memorial Scholarship Fund application is due to the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation by April 30. Board members of the Keegan Scot Southers Memorial Scholarship Fund, with the aid of the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation, will determine the amount and recipient of the scholarship; however, it will be at least $500 per academic year. This fund is supported through Keegan's Spirit Walk that will take place September 10, 2011 at Woodland Mound Park off Kellogg Avenue. Registration is free and will begin at 10 a.m. Donations are not required but are appreciated. To be a part of the Spirit Walk, go to their website http://keegansouthers.org/KeeganSpiritWalk.aspx. Sponsorships and in-kind donations are available please contact Keegan's Dad, Bruce Southers for more information. The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation has been supporting students in their goals of going on to achieve a higher education for over 90 years. New ebook Story Tells of the Intrigue and Politics of France in the Early Fourteenth Century Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:03 AM PDT New ebook Story Tells of the Intrigue and Politics of France in the Early Fourteenth Century It was a time of unicorns and witches, of angels and demons. There was God and the Son and the Holy Mother, and the Son's magic turned bread into flesh and wine into blood. Apple trees needed a song to make good cider, and cats sucked the breath out of babies. North Truro, MA (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Author Jeannette Angell brings the Middle Ages to life in her novel The Crown and The Kingdom, now available in ebook format at http://tinyurl.com/29hdz84. The Middle Ages has become a familiar place to nearly everybody who reads or goes to the movies. Tolkien and George Martin, C.S. Lewis and Marion Zimmer Bradley have romanticized it, and yet it doesn't need that much help: the Templars' mysticism and secrets (made famous by The Da Vinci Code) and the intrigue of the Inquisition (explored in The Name of the Rose) are only a small part of what was happening in France at the beginning of the fourteenth century. It was a turbulent time that reads like the script for a soap opera. And while the king of France was orchestrating major events on the world stage, his four offspring were busy creating history of their own, with treason, murder, adultery and deception flourishing in Paris and London. It was also a time to play with power, to determine who should rule the world: king, pope, or wizard. It was a time for princesses to fall in love rashly and to marry wisely, and for fortunes to be made and reputations to be ruined. It was 1300. Now this exciting time comes alive in Angell's The Crown and the Kingdom, available in ebook format on Amazon for only $3.99! ### For the original version on PRWeb visit: http://www.prweb.com/releases/prweb2011/4/prweb8328764.htm |

Seattle Immigration Attorney Tahmina Watson Secures Visa for U.K. Soccer Star Adam Nowland Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:02 AM PDT Seattle Immigration Attorney Tahmina Watson Secures Visa for U.K. Soccer Star Adam Nowland Watson Immigration Law Scores Victory with O-1 Visa Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Watson Immigration Law (http://www.watsonimmigrationlaw.com) is pleased to announce today that it has secured an O-1 visa to bring U.K. premier league player, Adam Nowland to the U.S. as a soccer coach for the Everett-based team, Washington Rush Soccer Club. Joining a small group of elite players such as soccer legend Pele, Nowland was required to obtain a specialized visa as an "Alien of Extraordinary Ability" before beginning his employment. U.S. immigration regulations require certain foreign nationals who have received recognition for outstanding performance in the areas of arts, sciences, education, business or athletics to obtain an O or P visa in order to work or play for a professional sports team for an extended period of time in the states. Nowland's visa approval was granted based on the case built by his attorney and substantiated by his reputation and acclaim as an international soccer star. "Watson Immigration Law played a crucial role in obtaining U.S. work authorization for Nowland by building a strong case for his visa petition," expressed Ellen Hawks, Washington Rush President. "Thanks to Watson's efforts, our players will benefit from training with a high caliber coach as Nowland brings a unique perspective and extensive experience to the field." Born in Preston, England, Nowland was a talented child prodigy and was first hired to play professionally with the renowned Blackpool Football Club at the age of 17. He was the youngest player to ever score a goal for the team, a record that remains unbeaten. He continued to play for various high profile soccer teams in the U.K including West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Preston North End. In recent years, Nowland has focused his career on coaching. "It's been a long road between receiving the coaching offer from Washington Rush to being granted the O-1 visa and I'm very grateful to Watson Immigration Law for making this dream a reality. I'm excited to have the opportunity to develop youth soccer in the U.S. and to further my career as a coach," said Nowland. Immigration law has become increasingly difficult in recent years, particularly for employment-based visas and more specifically for highly specialized employment visas such as the O-1. The U.S. government's proscriptive interpretation of the law makes it difficult to succeed in such cases. To get an O-1 visa specifically, applicants must demonstrate "a level of expertise indicating that the person is one of the small percentage who have risen to the top of the field of endeavor." "I am thrilled to have helped Nowland obtain his O-1 visa as his contribution as a coach at Washington Rush will be significant," said Watson Immigration Law attorney Tahmina Watson. "Our firm takes great pride in assisting athletes that enable the advancement of U.S. sports." About Watson Immigration Law Founded in 2009, Watson Immigration Law is a boutique firm dealing with all areas of United States Immigration and Naturalization Law. Serving a steadily growing client base with immigration issues from individuals to large multinational companies based in the U.S. and around the world, the practice continues to attract people seeking very personalized attention. Biodiversity Research Institute Announces new Webcam to Monitor Bald Eagle Nest Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:01 AM PDT Biodiversity Research Institute Announces new Webcam to Monitor Bald Eagle Nest Biodiversity Research Institute Announces new Webcam to Monitor Bald Eagle Nest Gorham, ME (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 BioDiversity Research Institute (BRI) today announced the installation of the newest video webcam provided by NextEra Energy. The video camera is set up to monitor the nest of a pair of bald eagles in Maine's mid-coastal region. This webcam is one of two cameras NextEra currently sponsors that captures the breeding activity of these raptors in real time. Visitors to BRI's website, http://www.briloon.org, can watch the daily activities of this eagle pair roosting, hatching eggs, and raising its young. "We are fortunate to have NextEra's support, without which we would not be able to provide this important tool both for research and education," says David Evers, Ph.D., executive director of BRI. Breeding bald eagles lay eggs once each year, usually in early spring; the eggs, up to three in a clutch, hatch in about 35 days. The young eagles, called nestlings, learn to fly by three months of age, and can be on their own about a month later. "Webcams are an important tool to help engage the general public in science and ecology," says Chris DeSorbo, director of BRI's raptor program. "Once people get a glimpse into the daily life and challenges of an eagle nestling, they become more invested in 'their eagles.' For many, that's the nudge that increases their awareness and concern for broader issues facing eagles and other wildlife—like contaminated fisheries and loss of habitat." Eagles build their nests (which may reach as wide as 10 feet across and weigh up to one-half ton) near the top of large trees, typically close to lakes and rivers. Eagle pairs defend their nests and surrounding area from other eagles. The territory in which NextEra's webcam monitor is located was established in 2001. Through aerial surveys conducted by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, biologists know that eagles nesting in this territory have hatched eight nestlings over the past decade. The bald eagle is one of the most identifiable birds in North America; it became our national bird in 1782 and since that time has captured the public's imagination as a symbol of freedom and strength. Over the last 230 years, a number of factors have threatened this bird including pesticides, habitat degradation, and shootings; in 1940 the U.S. Congress passed the Bald Eagle Protection Act (which later expanded to include the Golden Eagle). By 1963, the bald eagle was listed as an endangered species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Diligent efforts of wildlife biologists and state and federal wildlife management agencies have enabled these birds to recover; they were removed from the federal endangered species list in 2007, and the Maine state list in 2009. Installing video cameras to observe the eagles involves cooperation between wildlife biologists and state and federal wildlife agencies. NextEra's eagle webcam program is made possible through partnerships with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and BioDiversity Research Institute. BRI's wildlife webcam program began in 2003 as a research tool to monitor the nests of the common loon, which at the time was one of the primary bird species being studied at the Institute. Since then, BRI has installed additional webcams to monitor the nesting activities of eagles, ospreys, and falcons. The general public can join BRI's online community through the Institute's website at http://www.briloon.org. BioDiversity Research Institute is a non-profit ecological research group dedicated to progressive environmental study and education that furthers global sustainability and conservation policies. The organization believes that wildlife serve as important indicators of ecological integrity. BRI works with state and federal agencies to band and monitor the health and ecology of birds throughout the United States, as well as in regions and around the world. For more information, visit http://www.briloon.org. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is a state agency that oversees the conservation and responsible use of Maine's natural resources. Windham Group Job Fit Analysis A Powerful Return to Work Solution Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:01 AM PDT Windham Group Job Fit Analysis A Powerful Return to Work Solution Case study shows how Job Fit Analysis can drastically reduce claims expenses and recurrence Manchester, NH (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Windham Group, provider of Return to Work Solutions to the healthcare industry and employers today announced the publication of a case study demonstrating Job Fit Analysis success in return to work claims. The Windham Group Job Fit Analysis (JFA) is a claims response tool that modifies the work environment for someone who remains out of work, with or without a work release or someone who is working but in pain and is not recovering. The case study describes a debilitating shoulder injury, hospital treatment and recurrence, which would have led to additional surgery and painful rehabilitation. A Job Fit Analysis was performed prior to the second round of surgery. Subsequent modifications to the workplace through Windham Groups proprietary JFA protocol completely resolved the issues and the patient was pain-free after only three days. The planned surgery was cancelled and the patient is back to work without any residual symptoms. "The Windham Group JFA reduces risk of re-injury, minimizes future claims from being filed by other employees and establishes a greater support to return to work by that employer." said Drew Rice, Director of Ergonomic Services, Windham Group. "The JFA is a cost-efficient way to prevent costly and debilitating injuries. The workplace modifications are based on ergonomic science and our long experience in the field." The modifications are usually not costly or particularly complicated when based on a proper Job Fit Analysis. Windham Group JFA evaluators are experts in overcoming employer objections, identifying risk factors and implementing no/low cost, high impact modifications that will benefit both insurer and insured. "Windham Group has demonstrated through years of experience, that soft tissue pain complaints have created an opportunity for cost-effective, positive change in work environments that increase productivity and reduce injuries over a broad range of work environments" said Sebastian Grasso, President and CEO of Windham Group. "This case study is a good example of how a Job Fit Analysis can have a huge impact on even the toughest cases" The full case study "Return to Work Solutions Case Success: Job Fit Analysis" can be viewed or downloaded here:http://www.windhamgroup.com/interior.cfm?pid=Case%20Studies Industry – for more information, please contact: Windham Group info(at)windhamgroup(dot)com Phone 603 626 5789 Media – for more information, please contact: drive PR Inc. One Property Owner Saves Half a Million Gallons of Water Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:00 AM PDT One Property Owner Saves Half a Million Gallons of Water ROTOGreen Releases First Update on Conservation Initiative Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 It's been one year since North America's #1 plumbing and drain service company kicked off its water conservation program. Roto-Rooter enlisted the help of a property management customer located in Camden, New Jersey to test out a few of the ROTOGreen products and services and track the savings. "The idea behind ROTOGreen is that we can make it easy for families and businesses to save a significant amount of water and money without changing behaviors," said Roto-Rooter President and COO Rick Arquilla. The Camden Oaks rental property is a 16 unit apartment building with 17 showers and bathtubs, 17 toilets, 34 sinks and 2 washing machines. The toilets were retrofitted into dual-flush models. Old shower heads were replaced with the latest 1.5 gallon-per-minute models. Bathroom and kitchen sink faucet aerators were swapped out with more restrictive flow models. In a year's time, Camden Oaks has saved a total of 565,000 gallons of water and more than $3,000 as a result of these simple replacements. "This is an incredible savings for the property management company, which foots the water bill in this case. In regards to investment, it took Roto-Rooter service technicians about a full day's work to install everything and the customer is on target to recover the full investment of parts and labor in less than 18 months," said ROTOGreen representative Paul Abrams. "These retrofits were made to existing fixtures for a fraction of the cost of replacing old toilets and faucets with new models," he added. If just one apartment complex of similar size in each state underwent the same updates, 28.25 million gallons of water could be saved each year. When broken down, the savings translate to a savings of more than 35,000 gallons and nearly $200 per apartment annually. Additionally, a single man living in a metro Kansas City three bedroom home who participated in the ROTOGreen renovation swapped out two shower heads, three sink faucets and two very old toilets with newer, more efficient EPA WaterSense approved models, cutting his annual water usage by 57 percent. To celebrate Earth Day 2011, ROTOGreen encourages you to be a part of our water conservation effort. Whether it is by making simple retrofits, updates or replacements, everyone can make a difference, environmentally speaking, and save money on water, sewer and energy bills in the process. Share your Earth Day green ideas on our Facebook Page (Facebook.com/RotoRooter) and hear tips from others in our community who are making smarter green choices. Personal Injury Attorneys and Lawyers Unfold Their Unconscious Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:00 AM PDT Personal Injury Attorneys and Lawyers Unfold Their Unconscious Recently launched website Personal Injury Attorney Psychoanalysis struggles to explore the most hidden parts of consciousness of lawyers and attorneys. New York, NY (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 The primal focus of the newly launched Personal Injury Attorney Psychoanalysis site http://personalinjuryattorneypsychoanalysis.com is the creation of the solid online archive made from psychoanalysis sessions. The sessions were held exclusively with personal injury attorneys and lawyers. Due to this the sessions are often called self lawsuits or self litigations. The used method is called free associations technique. It was created by Josef Breuer and extensively used by Sigmund Freud and other psychoanalysts. The core of the method is to engage patients to write or talk everything they think or feel. Each session's webpage presents a text written down by a selected personal injury attorney. Attorneys were asked to write everything what comes into their mind first. The motivation behind the archive is to explore dynamics, streamlines and similarities in the unconscious of a given law career specialty. The text is unedited and interpretations are not given. Due to anonymity demand names and places are changed. "We are very excited to bring these raw words, sentences and very chaotic thoughts from the deepest corners of the brightest people," says one of the founders of the site. Every text has a number and a title. They are sorted chronologically. Titles were selected that best represent the session. For example you can explore the inner dialogue of New York personal injury attorney http://bit.ly/gc7z31 or Florida personal injury attorney http://bit.ly/gXi9ci case. Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:00 AM PDT Parks & Recreation's Master Impressionist Opens New Show in Hollywood: JIMPRESSIONS Astounds with Celebrity Voices Galore… and Much, Much, More Veteran actor Jim Meskimen (The Tonight Show, Late Nite with David Letterman, Whose Line is it, Anyway?) presents a retro-70's love affair with the art of celebrity impressionism. (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Most acts warn the public to "Accept No Imitations", but master impressionist Jim Meskimen, of Parks & Recreation and Whose Line? fame implores his audiences to do the opposite–"Accept Imitations", his own celebrity imitations, that is. You may not recognize Jim Meskimen by name, but you've heard his voice and delighted in his performances for years, including supporting roles in five Ron Howard films, from Apollo 13 to Frost/Nixon. A respected voice actor and impressionist whose celebrity voices have been heard on Parks & Recreation, The Tonight Show, LATE NITE with David Letterman, Whose Line is it, Anyway?, as well as viral Internet sensations from JIbjab.com, there is little territory that Meskimen has not covered in his 25 plus years in show business. In New York where he started his acting career, he first gained fame as a cartoonist, designing cartoon characters for the classic animated TV show, THUNDERCATS, performing improv at night with the award-winning New York ensemble, INTERPLAY, who boasted comedian Jerry Seinfeld as an early member. Moving back home to Los Angeles in 1993, he was seen as Will Smith's college professor in a famous episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air on NBC; his imitations of Jack Nicholson, William Shatner, Robin Williams and others have delighted audiences in reruns ever since. In 2004, however, his impressions of presidential hopeful John Kerry, G.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Arnold Schwartzeneggar had an even broader impact and contributed in a major way to the success of Jibjab.com's Flash animated hit, THIS LAND, which topped 80 million hits during the election cycle and put the fledgling media company on the map. Not satisfied with in-studio recording for these and other significant animated projects, including episodes of the Boondocks, Justice League, Shaggy & Scooby Doo Get a Clue, Avatar the Last Airbender and even the new reboot of Thundercats, Meskimen now takes his prodigious improv and impressionist skills to a new level live at The Acting Center stage in Hollywood in his all new one-man show, JIMPRESSIONS. Consisting of two acts of comedy, songs and stories from his career so far, JIMPRESSIONS is chock full of celebrity voices, over 65 impressions in the first act alone, which is presented in a tongue-in-cheek retro 70's vibe. The Firesign Theatre's Phil Proctor says about JIMPRESSIONS, "Famous stars past and present crowd the stage, magically conjured by the silly, singular Meskimen, a vocal magician who pulls characters out of his head — and even more amazing, like Penn & Teller, Jim shows us how he does it. Is there no end to his wizardry? No! Act Two introduces his charming British "altered ego", Professor Knestor Jackdaws, for a terrific and different topper of inspired artistic improvisation. Go see Meskimen's Show, and who knows? You may even see yourself…" JIMPRESSIONS at The Acting Center, May 6 & 7 at 8 p.m., and one weekend every month thru the rest of the year. A panel of 30 independent judges chose the winners for this year's awards. In each category, at least five judges awarded points based on criteria established by RFID Journal. The judges chose 10 finalists for the Best in Show award, and RFID Journal's editors picked the winner from among them. Gerry Weber International was chosen for a solution that integrates RFID tags into its product-care labels so clothing items can be tracked from factories to multiple warehouses and on to 200 stores. Royal Caribbean Cruises won for a solution that allows guests to prepay for unlimited soft drinks, and to then serve themselves fountain beverages without having to wait on a service bar line. Argonne National Laboratory was selected for its use of RFID to modernize the management of nuclear materials. And Chris Diorio, Impinj's chairman, co-founder and CTO, was honored for his leadership in the development of EPCglobal's ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) Gen 2 RFID standard. In addition, RFID Journal introduced a new award this year to recognize the use of RFID technology to improve the environment, increase recycling or enhance sustainability; this award went to Mission Foods, for an RFID solution enabling the elimination of disposable corrugated boxes, thereby reducing the company's solid waste stream by 98 percent. Their intention was to explore ways to expand the concept of Rights of Nature globally. They recognized the unique opportunity to further galvanize the momentum created by Ecuador's 2008 adoption of Rights of Nature in its Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Rights of Mother Earth from the People's Conference in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and growing community developments in the United States. Out of this four-day meeting, the Global Alliance for Rights of Nature was formed. Under the Nile’s Organic Toys Bring Hope to Rural Villages Posted: 22 Apr 2011 12:46 AM PDT Under the Nile's Organic Toys Bring Hope to Rural Villages Organic cotton baby clothing and toy manufacturer Under the Nile works towards complete sustainability, by teaching impoverished communities to make eco-friendly toys through the "13 Villages Project." Milpitas, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 Through its "13 Villages Project," Under the Nile is doing more than providing healthy toys for customers- it is providing healthier living conditions for impoverished communities in Egypt. The 13 Villages Project, which takes place in thirteen rural villages in Sharkeya, Egypt, was founded to bring new economic opportunities to small remote villages that suffer from unemployment and poverty. In partnership with its manufacturing farm in Egypt, Under the Nile engages these communities by teaching them a new trade and by providing jobs under a Fair Trade sustainable business model–ensuring continuous income and promoting healthier living conditions. As a result of this project, these communities learn how to maintain a clean working environment and are trained in water and waste management, receive the medical care they lack, and earn fair wages. Under the Nile founder Janice Masoud says about the project, "The goal here is complete sustainability. I believe that social responsibility must be a key component to any business. We are not only here to serve our customers and the environment, but to give back to the communities that make this possible." Team Beach Haus Rides The Coast The Coast Again Posted: 22 Apr 2011 12:46 AM PDT Team Beach Haus Rides The Coast The Coast Again East Coast Beer Co.'s, Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner, has created a team once again to ride for a cure for Multiple Sclerosis in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Point Pleasant Beach, NJ (PRWEB) April 22, 2011 In support of the fight against Multiple Sclerosis, Team Beach Haus will ride again in the Oakhurst – Coast the Coast Bike MS ride on Saturday, May 21st, 2011. Last year the founders of East Coast Beer Co. and Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner created a team that surpassed its fundraising goal by 100% and this year they are aiming to do it again. East Coast Beer Co., the parent company of Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner, is also a bronze sponsor of the event again this year. "This is an event that we will look to do every year, as a sponsor or event just as riders trying to raise money for MS," said Brian Ciriaco. "We were really proud that we raised more than $3,000.00 last year – it was quite a bit more than we thought we would. We hope to raise more than that this year." East Coast Beer Co. is offering individuals to join their team and participate in the leisurely 25-mile ride through the beach communities along the Jersey Shore. Each rider that joins the Beach Haus team will receive a Beach Haus t-shirt. To join the team, go to: http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Bike/NJMBikeEvents?team_id=244548&pg=team&fr_id=15051. This year marks the 20th annual Bike MS Coast the Coast Ride along the Jersey Shore. Over 1,600 cyclists can enjoy several different ride lengths, accommodating to the casual cyclist or to the more seasoned cyclist looking for a challenge, which boast coastal views, seaside towns, historic sites, the Pine Barrens and Cape May. Riders can also choose which day to ride, either Saturday, May 21st, or Sunday, May 22nd. The number of people living with multiple sclerosis increases with every hour of every day. This rate is not going to diminish, nor will it stop, until a cure is found. Research has made some advances recently, but the world can still only offer disease management drugs and therapies to the 400,000 people living with MS in America. To learn more about this event or how you can ride with John and Brian, co-founders of Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner, please visit http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Bike/NJMBikeEvents?team_id=244548&pg=team&fr_id=15051.
