Trilogy Excursions Announces New $2M Catamaran to Service Molokini Islet

Lahaina, HI, March 30, 2011 –(PR.com)– Trilogy Excursions has added a 64-foot catamaran, "Trilogy II," to its sailing fleet. The USCG-certified catamaran will take small groups on Molokini snorkel tours to a sunken volcanic crater located a few miles offshore of Maui. Molokini is considered to be one the world’s best snorkeling and scuba diving sites, with visibility up to 150 feet.

At a cost of more than $2 million, Trilogy II is designed to provide the ultimate in safety and comfort during Maui ocean excursions. A fully equipped wet bar and serving area is located in the cabin along with lounging spaces and an entertainment center that includes a widescreen multimedia display.

Constant Camber panels were used to streamline the boat’s cabin deckhouse and also the bridge deck construction. The sailing catamaran is powered by twin 283kW Yanmar motors and has a cruising speed of 14 knots with a top speed of 24 knots.

Trilogy was the first company in Hawaii to retrofit their vessels so that overboard discharge of treated sewage was impossible. The company has taken this a step further with Trilogy II which has been designed to contain graywater (dish water) as well.

All of Trilogy’s vessels are USCG certified sailing catamarans, and all personnel from deckhands to senior captains maintain certification in CPR, First Responder, Ocean Safety Skills and DE-fib. Scuba and snorkel tours are under the supervision of one or more ocean safety specialists at all times.

Housing Market Bottom Forecast

Destin, FL, March 30, 2011 –(PR.com)– The bottom of the housing market is close to developing in some regions of the U.S., while others will experience a delayed reaction in 2011 to the bottom of their markets, according to the new Housing Predictor forecast.

Analysts have determined that the delays in a large majority of the nation will be triggered by a variety of factors as the country sustains the toughest economy since the Great Depression, including some of the highest unemployment in many areas of the country in generations. Housing markets in more than a dozen states are forecast to experience higher home prices in 2011. The forecasts are being issued as part of the more than 230 local housing market projections made by forecasters for the real estate research firm. The best markets are concentrated in the Mid-West and North-Eastern regions of the country, which sustained less pricing volatility as a result of the real estate crash.

Higher projected foreclosures in the hardest hit areas of the country will pressure markets in the West and Southern regions, delaying the bottom of their markets.

North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana are predicted to have higher home prices over the year. Low mortgage rates should aid markets in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas and Louisiana especially when springtime weather rolls around.

Saint Joseph's University Head Basketball Coach, Phil Martelli, will be the keynote speaker at a "Tip-Off" reception for The Achievement Project's (TAP) "1000 to 1" campaign, on April 7, 2011. TAP is an academic and educational advancement program that works with young people of the city of Chester, PA. This year-round program operates after-school and during the summer. It includes tutoring, coaching, classes and enrichment experiences. The students are recruited in the 8th grade and participate in the program through their four years of high school and through the college application and admission process.

Coach Martelli, having spent 25 years at Saint Joseph's University (SJU), and 16 seasons as head coach, has built a program that is consistently one of the top in the conference. In the 2003-2004 season, he received The National Coach of the Year award. His efforts to help students are widely known, not only on the court, but off the court as well. His humanitarian efforts have made him a leader, not only in the Philadelphia region, but also on a national level.

TAP is the brainchild of Nicola Tollett Jefferson, a former practicing attorney turned child-education advocate. Nicola first tutored Harlem students as a law student at Columbia Law School in New York City. She watched with great joy as a young woman made the transition from under performing in a less-than-stellar school, to eventually becoming a college professor in Florida and author of two books. "It's absolutely amazing," says Ms. Jefferson, "what the power of education can do for a young person who faces formidable social, economic and educational challenges. The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the largest international non-profit association within the language and localization industry, is launching a full-time, funded initiative to define standards for the benefit of the entire industry.

The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the largest international non-profit association within the language and localization industry, is launching a full-time, funded initiative to define standards for the benefit of the entire industry. The association has commissioned Arle Lommel, one of the industry's most respected and experienced standards experts, to manage the initial collaborative planning phase and to establish a framework for long-term execution of standards.

"We recognize the need for clarity of standards," said Hans Fenstermacher, GALA Board Chair. "There have been a lot of discussions and debates about standards over the years, and those questions have intensified in the last month with the insolvency of LISA. GALA now will work to build consensus for a broad standards initiative to benefit our members and the industry as a whole."

In Phase I of the initiative, Lommel will lead a transparent effort to determine how the industry can collaborate to proceed with standards. He will seek input from localization buyers and suppliers, tool developers, and various partner localization and standards organizations. He also will explore funding options for a long-term, stable standards program that is available to all in the industry.

Throughout this phase GALA will provide platforms for feedback and input to the process. The first will be a standards roundtable hosted by Serge Gladkoff, GALA Board member, to take place tomorrow, 29 March, at the GALA 2011 conference in Lisbon. The roundtable will be broadcast as a webinar worldwide and interested parties who are not at the conference will be invited to listen and comment on the proceedings. The culmination of Phase I will be an industry standards plan that will lay out what standards should be pursued, how the standards will be developed in an open and unbiased way, and how the ongoing standards initiative can be funded by the industry.

Arle Lommel is a recognized expert in the fields of localization and translation. Widely published in the field, he focuses on both the technical and business aspects of the industry and how they relate to each other. As director of standards at LISA, he was responsible for submission of the TBX standard to ISO (now ISO 30042) and for driving standards development at LISA.

"Arle understands the process of developing standards and the benefits to the industry better than anyone," commented Fenstermacher. "We are thrilled to have him working with us to formalize the standard initiative and ultimately create a standards platform that is supported by the overall industry."
