Apple is the symbol of status for the elite class. Particularly its iPhone has gained a major market share from the upper middle class and elite class. Now here is good news for the middle-class people. Apple's Chief operating officer Tim Cook has declared that it will launch a 2nd tier i-Phone that will be beneficial for the pre-pay market.

Last week a meeting was held among the COO and Toni Sacconaghi (Industry analyst) and they agreed to the point of view of Cook that Apple do not want to serve the needs of rich people only. Cook is of the opinion that company should do a clever move to get its pie from other social classes as well, and pay-as-you-go is the right market for the Apple.

Apple's low price offerings are the need of the day. If Apple took this step to cater the pre-pay market it will be a good strategic move by the Apple.

iPhone nano device is also expected to be launched by the Apple, but it is not confirmed by the official sources of Apple yet. Hopefully this can be said for sure after the launch event of Apple iPad 2 on 2nd March 2011.
